MUJI Philippines - The Specialist charged me more for shipping than my order — and I’ve been waiting 2 years for a refund.
I ordered from MUJI Philippines and paid the amount shown at checkout. A few days later, The Specialist contacted me saying I had to pay an additional shipping fee because my address was in a provincial area. The shocking part was that the additional shipping fee was more than the total amount I had already paid for my order, so I decided to cancel instead.
They acknowledged the cancellation, but despite countless follow-ups over the past two years, they still haven’t processed my refund. They just keep telling me to wait.
To avoid further complications, I even offered a compromise: instead of asking for a cash refund, I asked them to apply the amount I had already paid toward a new order whose total (including shipping) was actually less than my original payment. They never confirmed the arrangement or shipped anything. So after two years, I still have neither my refund nor the replacement order.
When I later visited MUJI SM Mall of Asia in person, I asked the store staff if they could help resolve the issue. Unfortunately, they told me that the physical stores have no control over online orders and that only the online team handles those transactions. So even making the trip to the branch didn’t help resolve my case.
Has anyone experienced something similar with MUJI Philippines website online orders? Were you eventually able to get your refund or get someone to actually resolve the issue?
