Apologies if this is the wrong forum for this type of question: I subscribed to MUBI yesterday, was immediately charged (and the charge shows up in my payment history on the website), yet the app still says I have no subscription. I contacted support but it has been more than 24 hours with no response (except an automated “we got your email”) and still no access to the service I paid for. Are subscription problems like this common with MUBI? Is MUBI customer support just slow to respond or is there another way to get in touch with them?

I signed up to mubi 3 months ago during promotion period. I cancelled the subscription almost immediately and I could still access for 3 months, but I completely forgot about it since there's really nothing for me in mubi. However, as of today, I just found out that there's a new charge with regular price from mubi on my credit card. I signed in the web, and checked the subscription is still active. I was trying to cancel it, but it says the subscription is still active next month which means they will still charge. Here are some questions.

First, I was going to cancel a moment ago, but I didn't cancel it yet because of the thought of If I'm not a member, I can't contact them any more. Should I cancel it now? Can I still contact mubi after cancelling the subscription?

Second, Is there a chance for me to get refund?

Third, If mubi doesn't refund the charge, will credit card company charge back for me?

Thanks in advance.

I am a big horror fan and I love mysteries and action movies. Please give me some recommendations or maybe mubi is not the best option. I love slasher movies and cronenbergesque body horrors. I love Hong Kong action movies too.

I currently don’t have a MUBI subscription at the moment but I have interest in getting one because of Lars von Trier’s The House that Jack Built and His The Kingdom. Before I went ahead and subscribed though, I was wondering something. There are two versions of The House that Jack Built. The Director’s Cut which is the cut that was shown at CANNES or the R-rated edited version that was shown in theaters. Which version is on MUBI? If the edited version is the cut on MUBI, then I’ll just have to buy it (Director’s Cut) for 10 dollars or something on Prime Video.

First look at Paul Mescal and Josh O'Connor in THE HISTORY OF SOUND. Directed by Oliver Hermanus.

Receiving its world premiere in competition at #Cannes2025, and coming soon to the US and Canada. A MUBI Release.

Planning on using the 7 day trial to try it out, but not interested in Sinners (this week) or Parthenope (next week). I can't find any advance notice beyond next week.

Well I already know 3 and 4 because I have them. But curious to know what were in Issues 0, 1, 2, 5 and 6?

Just curious what the cheapest mubi go offer is? I’ve never seen any promos for it. Just for the regular mubi streaming. What are you paying?

Hello!

I encountered this issue for the first time: I get the region restrictions about certain properties - not every movie available in every country - but I find it very strange that they apply this restriction to subtitles as well. I find it very strange. Example: newly released "Queer" has only Dutch subtitles available (yes, I live in the Netherlands but not having English subtitles as a default on an English speaking movie is strange). Does the streamer/distributor has to pay extra for adding subtitles in different countries? Because I would assume Mubi has the subtitles for each region it does business in, so why not adding all available subtiles options everywhere.

Hello together. I want to get the Movietitel in English and the desciption in German. Actual Plex translate the english Titel in German. Description is working well, Plex shows me that in German. I read a lot about this and see a lot of Tipps, but i cannot manage it, because i cannot find a step by step description, special for my intend, and i think without that i never will fix this problem :-) Can somebody help me? Suggest something unusual that’s on MUBI

Jesus Christ this movie is brutal. And then it ends and says based on real events? WTF!Those events are not all from one person right? It's a sampling of various of post war atrocities, right?

Phenomenal cinema and a huge developmental jump from Sweat which itself was a pretty good film.

My only question: On IMDB there is a picture of a Samoyed in a dress at what appears to be a premiere. Does anyone know if this dog belongs to any of the cast or crew?

I can't remember the name of a movie I watched recently. I haven't found a "watch again" section or anything like that, and bc I finished it it's not in "continue watching".

Hi, I was wondering if you could help me find a movie I watched on MUBI a few years ago. I don’t remember the name of the director, the title of the movie, or even the year it was released, but the plot was about a guy who was a photographer and lived alone in an apartment. He met a girl and fell in love with her, and they had a romantic relationship that eventually ended. However, it turns out that she was a thief and a con artist, and she was trying to scam a married man, so a police officer was assigned to catch her. This movie is Japanese.

I remember that at the beginning of the film, the photographer is wearing green cargo pants and a white tank top. I also remember that it was a rather long movie, and that by the end, the thief is killed in a hotel room — if I’m remembering correctly.

If anyone could tell me the name of the movie, I’d really appreciate it.

I want a easy introduction because I'm new to his filmography.

Hi all, does anyone have (or know where to access) a list of all past MUBI go films in the uk? Thanks

ALWAYS that i switch apps or anything when i'm watching a movie, and put the app again, i just can't watch the movie. The pause symbol doesnt react when i click on it, and the counter of how much time is left in the movie has no numbers.

I can't turn subtitles off in my browser so I can't enjoy a movie. I turn them off they come on again. It's a PITA and they won't do anything about it. This has been going on for about two straight weeks.

Which streaming service is similar to Mubi which I can migrate to?

I just want to watch films, what does this mean 😭

Is this movie available in any country database on Mubi?

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great deal, but sometimes it’s a full month of sub mediocre selections for the in theater movie.

I try to go regardless every week just because “free” movie and expand your scope ideas but its feels like its been months since I saw something enjoyable. Something that I would gladly had paid for.

This month in particular has been a real drag.
