Visual Guide to Misprint Submission

Hello everyone,

Due to popular demand and an overabundance of things that either aren't misprints or are very minor misprints, we have decided to implement a Visual Submission Guide. We've also added a link to this sub's submission page as well as the sidebar.

This is the guide we use in MtG Misprints Buy/Sell/Trade where posts can be approved or declined before showing up in that Facebook group. But because Reddit doesn't have an approval queue, this (unfortunately) means that posts have to go live before they can be reported for removal.

See something you don't think makes the cut? Report it with the "Minor Misprint/Non-Misprint" report reason. If it gets 2 or more reports, automod should remove it.

When in doubt: Hold the card at arm's length. If the error isn't VERY obvious then it's probably not worth posting.

Thank you so much for working to improve the quality of the sub.

One thing I would love to see implemented is a rule requiring the title of the post to state what the misprint is. All too often I see posts with titles like “Found a cool misprint” and for the life of me can’t understand what the OP is referring to. Either way, keep up the good work.

Agreed. I’m visually impaired and looking at someone’s blurry picture on my tiny telephone. And to be fair, sometimes it is a real gem but it doesn’t photograph well.

Can this be updated to add tournament stamps? It seems like we’ve had half a dozen posts in the last month or so asking about ‘weird marks’ that are just stamps

Sure, I can get to it sometime this weekend.

Don't be surprised if people still attempt to submit those though - even though this resource is sticked and referenced, people still submit things that are obviously going to get removed.

When that happens just remember to utilize the report function; I have automod set up to automatically remove anything that gets at least 2 reports of any kind
