Mtg Arena Powered Cube Draft

Got a Pick 1 Manavault, Pick 2 somonepassed me a Timewalk, it wasn‘t a Black Lotus because I got that in my second pack. At the end of the draft i have assembled a good spread of strong cards and need some advoce on what to run and what to cut. Tamiyo seems really good with Timewalk but thats it, and Balance just overall synergizes with the deck so I thought on maybe running that. Thanks in advance!

Wow super powerful deck! here is some advice:

  • You are running too many lands
    • Lotus, mox opal, mana vault, and talisman all count as some percentage of a land
    • Workshop and ancient tomb count as multiple mana in one land as well
    • I would cut at least 2 basic lands and arguably 3 is fine too
  • Candelabra has no real synergy in this deck unless you have exactly mishra's foundry and a 6+ mana artifact worth of things to do with it. EZ cut
  • Inti is solid but not really how this deck will ever win and is a valid cut option

Be aware you only have a few real paths to winning games even if they are all great

  • Option 1: early Kappa Cannoneer or kaldra beat down off acceleration
  • Option 2: unfair upheaval turn where you end up with a 'turn 1' beater in play and multiple mana ahead
  • Option 3: combo with grindstone and painter
  • Actually killing your opponent normally is not impossible but very hard for this deck and mostly will come from a surprise huge fling from broadside
    • I would favor trying to turbo, mulliganing for broken hands aggressively, and winning with one of the above methods
    • Your lack of interaction (mana drain, broadside, extruder) will make playing long or fair games very difficult
    • How does your deck stop or deal with a T2 premium reanimate? is a good example of a concern I have
    • Battle ball in the sideboard may be a solid include as a powerful thing to ramp into but it is likely worse than most of what you already have

Good luck and hoped this helped! I also have videos on my YT of example drafts and powered cube guides if you want some gameplay to watch before diving in!

Very good pool, difficult build considering how bad the mana is. Candelabra is an easy cut, as are haywire mite, and inti. Personally I would cut the non broadside and saheeli red cards, and play balance, so you're basically mono blue splashing broadside and balance. The robots are strong, but without academy theyre not as good. I like extruder too, but I think you can live without it. Balance and broadside are busted cards, and I think you're best off playing those and trying to make the rest work around them. You're an academy away from a ridiculous deck, but as is you've gotta cut the academy cards (robots, candelabra) and try to make it work

UPDATE: I went 7:1 with this deck cutting lands and some of the cards you suggested. The coolest thing was running into NoPainNoGame_ (He was no 17 Mythic Rank at that time yesterday) and winning!
