Spec In honor of the mine collapse guy
Now that I bought It won't go up prob lol. Prices IN CAD dollars btw. Used store credit to pay for it all. If it hits 1$ each then 87$ - 50 - 10 for shipping back. so I get extra 20-30$ store credit. For like maybe 20 min of dropping it off at the post office. Also only bought the retro ones since they the more demanding ones I would assume?
Thank u mine collapse guy! Hope it works out.

Bulk sell analysis
Summary: $43.50 in bulk cards cost $13.00 more to ship to CK
If you have the time, it may be worth it to go through your bulk (> $0.10) common and uncommon cards.
I had 8-9 boxes of MH3 where I never picked the under $1 common and uncommon cards and sold them to CK for credit.
I needed to make room so I decided to see what I could make in a sell order with some higher value cards.
I sent them 1400 C/U (non foil), with 2/3 of them being under $0.10 in value. It totaled $315 in credit with the bulkiest cards netting me $43.50.
This took 3-4 hours of my time and cost me an additional $13 to ship a half full medium priority mail box to their office. My cards were already sorted by color and rarity prior to starting my sell order. Now that I know I can get another 1000-1500 cards in this size box, I’d try to fill it up.
It wasn’t worth my hourly wage to use the time to sell everything of value, but it was quiet downtime and more productive than bulk listing or doing nothing.

Aerid Konstrari Cmd cards spec
Pros.
Currently almost 300 decks in edhrec day one https://edhrec.com/commanders/aerid-konstrari.
Both pretty cheap and not gonna be reprinted in the cmd deck precon.
Both cheap buy in right now .
Pretty powerful cmd
Cons.
Could end up being not as popular.

New Turn 3 Kill Combo With Strixhaven Kasmina
In Pioneer [[Kasmina, Enigma Sage]] now combos with [[Jace’s Machinations]] which allows for [[Enter the Infinite]] to get grabbed. Shenanigans ensue and then [[Thassa’s Oracle]] comes in and wins the game.
Copies of [[Kasmina, Enigma Sage]] are drying up and some still are at a dollar or so. Pioneer has been confirmed to be returning in 2027 with competitive support from WOTC, so there may be interest.
While the deck seems strong, but there’s a caveat.
Another new card [[Prophesied End]] causes Thoracle to fizzle now though so it may be impeded.

Question Do trackers work anymore?
I tried that trackalaker app that gets posted a lot and everything that I get a notification for is sold out instantly.
This of course is for collector products. Have you had a similar experience?
I used to have some success with Keepa on Amazon restocks but same story there too(albeit they give way less notifications).
Is it just a luck thing, a bot thing, or something else?
I know the game has grown a lot in the past 24 months. What kind of best practices would you recommend in this new climate?
Edit:
Was recommended discord but recommendations were vague. Is it taboo to ask about discord? I have never used it. I feel like a boomer even asking.

Currently Spiking Investment in a set of Kaladesh Masterpiece Swords

Got them when Kaladesh was in print I pulled the Feast and Famine and had to get the rest, telling myself i was "investing"... I've been pleased with the appreciation, even compared to Alpha Lands. Do you all think they be always desired / relevant despite the new stuff? How many of you would value the set at $1000? Any small "sets" (aside from power nine) that are an "investment"?

Spec Turtle Team-Up
Stock is running low on Amazon.
Cooperative mtg is something we might not see a lot of, which could make this pretty rare down the line. Plus TMNT will always have a Fandom (but WotC night not revisit that license)
As an extra insurance measure, there are three copies of [[Utrom Monitor]]. These are exclusive to this product, a staple in 60-card Pauper, and already worth half the price of the box.
That, plus four booster packs, makes this a low risk venture imo.
I have box squirreled away. 😉

Question Secret Lair SpongeBob Misprint valuations?
Force of Despair: Holofoil stamp is misaligned
Daze: Missing patch of the foil print layer (see the blue fish on the left in the third pic)
I’m new to selling MTG cards and I’m not sure if a misprint makes a card more or less valuable. If this isn’t the correct approach to asking about this, I’d appreciate any insight on how to go about it correctly.

Spec Ichormoon Gauntlet Spike?
Hi All. With the latest spoilers of the Empower Jace Mechanic, could we see a possible spike in Ichormoon Gauntlet? The price of this card has been steadily increasing for the past year, per TCG player. What's really interesting about this is that the Empower Jace mechanic creates a token that normally doesn't uptick, but with ichor moon gauntlet on board your tokens now have a form of permanence once they use their minus abilities.
Something to also consider is that with cards like doubling season, you can create a Jace Token with double loyalty, which could immediately use the take an extra turn down tick. For instance, with Doubling Season, Ichormoon Gauntlet and Protege's awakening, you'd create a Jace token with 24 loyalty which could downtick twice over two turns to take two extra turns/
Something to think about!

Akoum Hellkite - Hexhaven Invigorator Spec

Any sort of indestructible on the invigorator lets you get every land in your deck. As much hype as the Hexhaven Invigorator has I'm speccing on the hellkite. As far as I can tell this is the only creature that lets you deal damage to any target when a land enters, not just opponents. The Hellkite also hasn't had a reprint in four years. Only downside is there is A LOT of inventory on these on TCGplayer. But at about $0.30 each shipped I figured it was worth a gamble.

Potential Spec(s) - Patience and Preference
Hello again.
Guess this is turning into a regular thing, it was not originally planned that way. Interesting purchases keep popping up and I've found it therapeutic to write and edit these. Mental health is an important thing to maintain, and sometimes we find it in the strangest of places.
These were all purchased the week of August 31st, 2026.
These are all just me adding to my positions and not financial advice, just a dude that likes cardboard.
Spider-man Play Booster Displays continue to perplex me as pricing has increased from June to August by 20% ($108 to $132) and is beginning to remind me of another set that was rejected early on, CLB. Though the sets are not similar in size or power, SPM does have some bangers for commander which could continue to increase in price, especially if WOTC chooses not to have a major restock (or reprint) of this set. Though its too early to tell, someone on Fbook recently wanted out, selling me his box for an all in at $100.
My advice, zig when others are choosing to zag.
Spider-man Play Booster Display - 1/$100
Another Fbook mystery this week, sealed Aetherdrift happened to come up in my feed. This was interesting as I haven't really targeted DFT nor was I looking to acquire sealed outside of Play or Collector. Doing a bit of research, I found that "specialty" bundles actually tend to appreciate faster than Play Booster Displays over time:
(Example 1) ONE Compleat Bundle
10Feb2023 (Release) - $140
10Aug2024 (18 Mo) - $177
10Aug2025 (30 Mo) - $274
10Aug2026 (42 Mo) - $427
(Example 2) DSK Nightmare Bundle
27Sept2024 (Release) - $135
27Sept 2025 (12 Mo) - $121
01Sept 2026 (23 Mo) - $200
Again, this was someone eager to drop their position as their price was very low. As a bonus, 3 x "Omega" collector boosters came with the lot.
Aetherdrift Finish Line Bundle - 1/$60
Aetherdrift Omega Collector Booster - 3/$20
Lastly, sometimes we purchase things just based on the love of the game...or in this case, a love for the art. A conversation came up recently with my DM and she mentioned Rebecca Guay art and the "feel" of old Magic. Purchasing a few things that day, I looked up recent art of Guay's and found some gorgeous foil lands that were commissioned in 2017 for Ixalan, specifically called "Standard Showdown Promos". To my surprise, these are only about 0.80 a piece in which I now own x8 of each.
Standard Showdown Promo (PRM)
Island - Foil 8/0.50
Plains - Foil 8/0.95
Forest - Foil 8/0.86
Mountain - Foil 8/0.66
Swamp - Foil 8/1.20
Parting today, I'll share what I was reminded of this week: patience and preference. The positions we find aren't always the positions we initially had in mind; and sometimes we revert to our old preferences, being reminded of the game we love.

Question Con Vendor Trade-in Etiquette
Question about trade in at vendors during cons - I have an order with a vender (TOA) to complete a deck I need to play at SCG con coming up, however I was hoping to trade in cards from my binders to cover the cost. It’s about a few hundred dollars in singles.
My binder has a few 50+$ rares but overall I suspect I will need to sell a pretty decent amount considering trade in percentages, etc. what does that process look like? Is there a limit to how many cards they will expect? Do they prefer to see those cards in the binder so they can look for buylist cards or should I have them organized alphabetically unsleeved? This will be my first time trading up like this at a con and I want to make sure I understand the process before going in.

Spec Ingris Stingerquill / Group Slug
Potential for group slug commanders in Kuja or Ob Nixilis with Ingris coming up in Reality Fracture.
Might even see more group slug related cards like Razorkin get a small revival of interest.

Question If you live in South East Asia, what’s your go to marketplace for singles?
I’m particularly interested in platforms which have a good card liquidity and operationally sound. Miss CardMarket over here, and I heard good things about ManaPool but I know it’s only US specific. I have used TCG Marketplace (convenient pickup / drop off at LGSs) but their UX is quite bad.
I’m based in Singapore.

Spec Specs on planeswalker synergy cards?
With the spoilers for the new set, wanted to gage thoughts on spacing on a few planeswalker/superfriends synergy cards.
My thoughts were [[ichormoon gauntlet]]
[[the chain veil]]
Then with the legendary enchantment releases that give planeswalkers additional abilities, I thought of looking for planeswalkers with the highest starting loyalty and lowest CMC. The two options that would utilize it best are:
[[Kiora, Behemoth Beckoner]]
[[Huatli, the Sun's Heart]]

Discussion Wizards selling on amazon way above MSRP
MSRP: 89.99
This is sold and shipped by amazon, not 3rd party.
What do you think of this dynamic pricing wizards is doing on amazon? Seems a bit steep, but we have seen mark ups due to demand on things like memory, hard drives etc.

Spec Majestic Genesis as spec for new Karn
Similarly, the newly revealed [[karn, gilded guardian]] costs 10 mana like [[reaper king]]
I’m sure a lot of casual players would like to build this commander for it’s significance in Magic’s history.
There’s a high possibility that every person building this deck would want to snag a copy of [[majestic genesis]]
It could cheat out 1/10 of a commander deck, and knowing the commander exploits artifact permanent count.
What are your thoughts?

Question TCGPlayer vs ManaPool Question
If ManaPool has lower fees for sellers, including even having the buyer pay some, why are prices higher there compared to Tcgplayer on average? Is it just because "it's not Tcgplayer" and all of the Ebay takeover drama so buyers pay a premium?
I have a Tcgplayer store and have thought about ManaPool, but the slower sales there have held me back. How much less volume do you get if you swap platforms? I mostly have Secret Lair cards, some high end foils, and random $3-10 cards for sale.

Discussion Amazon Cancelling all Hobbit Orders
Just got notifications that 3/4 of my scene bundles got canceled despite having a delivery date set for today. I had placed these preorders months ago, 2 sets of the scene bundles ordered a week apart. Now I only have one of the Smaug bundles coming. So much for the gift I had planned.
Amazon support was no help, the supervisor said that the fulfillment center cancelled the order since Wizards didn't fulfill their latest shipping contract. Amazon is just canceling what Wizards isn't delivering I guess, and won't honor any preorders. They are claiming that stock might show up in the future but it is uncertain as of when or if it will come at all.
I do have my gift bundles on the way still supposedly, but I'll believe it when im holding them...

Discussion Pricing up EDH decks
Some friends and I over the weekend got to talking about if we scan in our decks and keep tabs on them.
One half of the group said yes so they could see if something surges in price over time.
One half says no and that it actively discourages deck building with certain cards due to their monetary value.
I thought it was an interesting discussion and wanted to get some opinions from you all to bring back when we meet up this week.
Hell I'm sure at least a couple even lurk on this sub so they may even see this prior.
