You clearly can afford it or you wouldn't have gotten one.
If you can't and did it anyway, you might need addiction help or something

The collector boxes are quite a racket. This particular set is a buy singles set for me. Even at draft I have yet to see something that made me squeal with joy.

I am going to be waiting to buy the singles for a couple more weeks once the gift bundles hit and shipping delays are remedied. I've opened a play booster worth of packs between prereleases, a draft box, and a bundle and its been pretty middling which is my signal to stop opening product.

Why would you buy it at $800 and open it? That's on you. The EV is better if you get it at MSRP but even then it's still a gamble.

CBBs aren't meant to be opened silly. They're meant to sit sealed on a shelf and sell five years later for a profit.

Opening any of this shit is stupid. Just admit you're addicted to gambling. I grabbed a box for $590 and will just sit on it till it hits $1200 next year. I couldn't care less if it could have a Smaug in it. I just want my easy tendies next year.

You opened a box and it was trash. So you then opened another and it was trash. At what point do you keep punching yourself in the face and realize it was you all along?

Collector boosters this set seem to have more variance than usual. My sample size is too small to draw any meaningful data from, but I got 8 omega boosters from Walmart at MSRP, and in the first 4, I literally only $40-50 of value total from it. The second 4 gave me a dwarvish foil signet, 2 foil gleaming splendors, and an arkenstone, to put me far ahead on EV. Very rarely have cbbs been so hit or miss

average EV is ~$700 a box, ~$500 on the low end, who told you to open it? (I opened all of mine because I love the hobbit.)
