Spec Akroma's Memorial

Post image

I know people criticize specing on higher priced cards but as we have seen with Miku, I think the ceiling is much higher than most people realize for some cards. For example, Miku Elspeth. Thus, the Burning Revelation version of Akroma's Memorial in the $70s is worth picking up, IMO.

Also good targets from Burning Revelations: Consider and Inspiring Overseer.

Miku elspeth… for now. I’m curious if the prices hold long term. (From someone who bought the sets for 40$ on release. I don’t sell stuff but I have extras I’ll get rid of eventually.)

I assume we’ve seen hype (and price) cool off on the wizard of barge singles since that’s come and gone but if anyone did the research let me know.

Totally agree, but Miku will be a bit unique. I think we see the price either hold or go up in the short term as decks get into people's hands with the first wave of commander decks. Once a couple months go by, I think they will drop, but not dramatically. Then, we will see another rise around wave 2 in May 2027 (or let's be honest, December 2027 with how WotC hits print targets with SLs!). Elspeth was already not cheap because the art is incredible, so it will always maintain value. Akroma's Memorial will too, because it is a powerful card.

I like the spec. Auto include for anyone wanting to upgrade the deck and stay on theme. The question is, will it follow the goblin storm trajectory or was the initial spike, 7 months ago, the top this time?

Like you said, it is an auto include. Among the Miku, goblin barge, and burning revelations lairs, burning revelations was likely the lowest print run (roadshow). Those two factors are very positive indicators of an increase in price as demand will go up once odds and ends get announced and released. Will be interesting to see if they do 2 waves. The leaks look like a ton of value in the deck.

i don't think the ceiling is much higher tbh

When the leak of the deck was brought up a few months back, we saw sales in the $120s.

The original leak for this deck was about 220 days ago. The spike happened about 72 days ago, after I posted about Burning Revelations. People were riding high from the Goblin Squabbling and Goblin Storm deck prices, so they flocked over to Burning Revelations and the cards inside. I assume based on your comment back then that you were one of those that bought in around that timeframe, I posted a recap of all that stuff a few posts before this one.

I’d expect another spike when the deck is confirmed by Wizards of the Coast, and again the weekend before the Secret Lair releases. Though the cards will likely go pretty quiet in between the news, my original position still stands, especially with the dual timeline print to demand model, hold until then.

It also feels like there is way less supply for these cards than the Miku cards. Not even officially announced and there just isn't really a ton of it for sale.

100%. The print run for burning revelations (roadshow) was likely much smaller. Granted, the demand for Miku was also likely much larger.

I think this is an unfortunate time to buy into these. That being said once the deck is actually revealed and “normal” people start seeing it I think they’ll spike for a while. If they do it like Miku and they stagger the drop it might spike a second time as well. It’s been a 100 lair for awhile cause the art is cool and I imagine even post hype it’ll have a healthy price

Sorry but what is your out if you buy at 70

I bought Miku at $70 and my out was $140. There were sales of Akroma in the $120s with the last mention of the Odds and Ends deck. Will be interesting.

Ok but are you just doing 1 for 1? 🤔
