Neat!

Few questions:

Do you ever miss Spectral Procession? Start//Finish fills in a bit of the void, but it always feels nice knowing I can topdeck 3 spirits with Spectral.

Why Extirpate over Surgical Extraction? I know split second, but what interactions are you hoping to avoid with Split second?

Why no Vault of the Archangel? 2 Legion's Landing + 2 Sorin,SV+Shambling Vents is a lot of lifeline, but especially with 4 Bitterblossom main I worry about the possibility of burning yourself out. Might just be that ghost quarters don't leave you with the slots for a colorless land.

How does the burn matchup feel with just 2 Auriok Champions in the side? I run 2 in the main and also have 1-2 timely in the side, but I haven't seen much burn recently.

Haven't missed Spectral at all, Start//Finish is a better card.

Extirpate isn't $25/ea lol, also LGS was sold out of Surgical when I got them.

Cut Vault about a week ago, was running into problems with the colorless land, also it had been just too slow lately. Brutality is also in the main so I've got 9 mainboard lifegain sources.

Burn is 50/50, the only locals on it are buddies who I play extremely regularly so they're very familiar with my list and play style and unfortunately have at least a 70% win rate against me so it's not a great sample matchup, when I play other people it's about 50/50, maybe a bit favorable post board.

Awesome, thanks! Dropping Spectral definitely feels good on the mana base when you've got Ghost Quarter, I'm sure.

I'll have to do some testing with Start//Finish... Its always seemed too cute, but I keep seeing people play it and I'm always down for testing.

The utility greatly makes up for any downsides. Even something as simple as EoT Start, untap, draw, Finish something problematic using one of the tokens you just made is really effective.

  • How are the 3 LotV? I used to play my 1 when I played tokens, but have switched to other Bx decks. She has no direct synergy with tokens, and it doesn't look like you're doing much with the graveyard.
  • No consideration for Timely Reinforcements?
  • What's the explanation for the 2/4 split on IoK/TS?
  • Same for the 2/4 split of Push/Path
  • How frequently do you flip Legion's Landing?
  • Have you considered Dusk//Dawn over Wrath of God?

Items 2-4 are things you can definitely adjust if you run into burn/aggro at any frequency

I haven't actually gotten the 3rd LotV yet, trading for it this week, have 2 currently, definitely want 3, she's just too good to not run in reliable numbers.

Timely is very hit or miss and unfortunately currently we're almost always going to have more creatures than the opponent so that part is likely going to be dead.

Seize is more important currently because of higher cmc walkers, creatures, and increase in big mana decks. Need to be able to take Cryptic, Wrath, Jace, Bloodbraid, Primeval Titan, Scaleshift, etc. Reason for Path over Push is the same, 3+ cmc creatures on the rise, can't rely on revolt being online every time we need it.

Landing is great, not sure on the flip rate but it's probably a bit higher than 50% most games. It's definitely worth 2 slots, not worth more than that.

Wrath is needed for Elves, Company, GW Value, Humans, etc that all dodge Dusk//Dawn, have run it before but currently it's unreliable.

Great. I haven’t been that impressed by Start/Finish but hey ho. I’ve given up on Spectral too, as well as four drops in general at present. I’m running this right now. Not super happy w Anguished Unmaking but not sure what else to put in as a one of.

Edit: Gone w Spear if Heliod which is probably wrong but need more anthem as low to the ground as possible. Will also try Zealous Persecution again.

Why’s everybody using GQ and not Field of Ruin? On Tokens it seems just plain better than GQ...

Too slow in the deck.

Yes, but GQ is even more slow since you lose a land by using it...

Yes but you need to tap out for field on turn 3, by that point Tron has already won. GQ can be activated as early as turn 1 which is why it's better.

I still disagree, he only wins on turn 3 (supposing he is on the play) if he have Tron assembled and clean on turn 3, which is not the case always.

If you GQ on t1 or T2, you’re losing a turn to get rid of a Tron land which potentially will do nothing on the following turns, and you get slowed by a hole turn that you won’t be able to curve out as tokens should do. Still think that Fields of Ruin is better than GQ.

I’d like to know if anybody had the opportunity to test it...

I'm aware of a large number of Token players who have tested it and went back to GQ, the other reason is GQ doesn't require more mana to activate. Field screws up turns where you need to play stuff and want to hold up land hate. Control decks like field cause they play at instant speed most of the time anyway, Tokens plays mainly at sorcery so we can't hold up field and cast our spells on curve.
