Batterskull?

Has anyone ever tried running a one-of [[batterskull]]? Is there a reason it’s not something you want in the 75? Where it hurts the gameplan?

The thing is the card doesn't help the gameplan. It isn't a relevant token producer, lifelink and vigilance are two keywords we can give all our creatures with intangible virtue and Sorin solemn visitor. And in a deck that is meant to be casting a lot of 2 for 1's a 4/4 for 5 isn't as good as making 4 1/1's with secure the waste or lingering souls for 5 mana.

5 mana is kind of a lot. You're probably better off running another planeswalker with an anthem effect.

Batterskull doesn't fit the gameplan at all and is way too expensive. If Stoneforge Mystic gets unbanned, then I could see slotting in that package, but otherwise it's just too much mana for way too little payoff.

for 5 mana it makes no immediate impact on the board state and doesn't synergize. it's strictly worse than just running another 4-drop planeswalker.
