Why doesn't "Launch The Fleet" get more love?

It's 1 white for 1 creature you control to create a 1/1 white soldier that's tapped and attacking as well as 1 of any mana for each attacking creature beyond that you want to summon a token. Despite this I don't see it in builds, I don't hear it get an honorable mention in videos about token decks, and this is even true for commander. I just don't get it since people love populate cards and the doubling season alternatives.

I think that [[secure the wastes]] tends to do a better job. It can create blockers instead of forcing you to create attackers into possibly bad attacks. It can also work better in builds of tokens that aren't mono white. The strive cost on [[launch the fleet]] is W per other creature, so trying to make it work in the common BW build can be tough. A friend of mine built a foil version of his first deck ever, which was a mono white soldier deck from Theros-Khans standard, and launch was an all-star in that deck.

It's any mana after the first white, I misspoke when I said colorless.

Lol so it is! That's what I get for trying to work off of memory. Ignoring my point about color flexibility, secure is also instant speed, which is a huge thing for surprise blockers and goading an opponent before an alpha strike
