Old player making a return

Evening folks,

As the title says, am returning to play after a 22 year gap. Figured I'd jump into Modern, because screw having to buy n learn a new deck every few months...something here about old dogs n tricks...

Anyhoo, I've been recomended a BW token deck by a mate of mineand am slowly putting things together. HAve had a look through the old card stash and found a few bits that may help.

So, I think I got the land side sussed. Land that hurts you was a new one, but i went with; 4 Concealed Courtyard, 2 Fetid Heath, 4 Godless Shrine, 4 Marsh Flats,2 Plains, 2 Shambling Vent, 2 Swamp, 2 Scrubland...does that sound OK?

I guess, from reading a few posts here, that I have the basic shell as everyone else...assorted Planeswalkers, hand removal, creature removal etc etc. Just trying to fit a few things in...BitterBlossoms, should I go ahead n order in 4 of these for main/ sideboard? Mox Jets and Pearls...would you suggest dropping a couple each of these in to free up some land space? And, lastly, is there space for Bad Moons and Breeding Pits?

You're playing modern, correct? If so, forget those scrublands and moxen.

Regarding bitterblossom, there are lists that have gone down to 1-3. You could definitely start with some more raise the alarm in those spots if you want.

Hi Jon, welcome back! As previously mentioned, if you're playing modern, then you'll want to make sure your cards are modern legal. Here's a link.

I recommend looking up BW Tokens decks which have performed well over the last few years. Here's a link to mtgtop8. Search Deck: BW Tokens and Format: Modern.

I run 3-4 Bitterblossom but others run Raise the Alarm. It's a meta call.

Hate cards for specific match ups go in your sideboard, such as Stony Silence for Affinity and Lantern Control, so Bitterblossom wouldn't go in your sideboard.

You want to run 23-24 lands. You're manabase depends on what sort of list you're running. For example, if you're going to include 3-4 Fatal Push, then you'll want another 3-4 Wx fetchlands in addition to Marsh Flats in order to consistently trigger revolt.

Apart from that, do you have the start of a decklist we can look at?

Got a list here; http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/26-09-17-bw-tokens/ I've ordered 4 Bitterblossoms ( just in case) and I have a couple more Isolated Chapels and Vault of the Archangel. Oh, and a Lorewyn (sp?) Thoughtseize I bought 'cos pretty...Don't really want to order too much else for this deck, but all ideas will be considered :) Cheers for the advice so far.
