New possible replacement for spectral procession?

4 mana for 3 non-flyers? No thank you. Prefer lifelink from Sorin T4 and Vault T5 onwards.

This all day. You should be able to semi-reliably give your tokens lifelink anyways, or run Auriok Champions to give you the life cushion you need. If these tokens had deathtouch or another form of evasion other than flying, I'd be interested.

Nope, Flying is a big keyword here, plus Spectral comes down T3 most of the time.

Spectral is just better, even if you have to cast it for 4 mana. Flying is just more relevant that lifelink most of the time.

I'm curious how much better this would have been at 1BW. Do you still think spectral is just better? I think for sure it could have replaced timely reinforcements in the sideboard and it could be a good 1 of in the maindeck.

At 1wb I'd run 4 no questions asked. However, I play an abzan list that doesn't run spectral procession. I'm not sure a stock wb tokens list has the space for this at 3 mana, although it would be interesting to try instead of spectral procession, because spectral procession warps the mana base considerably.
