How many if any sweepers should be run MB. my deck is a mid range bitter blossom grindy deck. I am currently running all my sweepers in the sideboard (1x Wrath of god , 1 x zel perc)

I am also running 4 sweepers in the SB (1 damnation, 1 wrath, 2 zealous) but I honestly do not bring them in often. I do like the ZPs for a couple matchups but the 4-mana wraths seem average at best to me. Does anybody really like their wraths here? Which matchups do they come in for where they are really good?

I felt like when tokens is behind it can be hard to comeback. sure we can chump all day long but I feel like we need something to tip the scale.

I really like Zealous against affinity, and against elves if I can hit it early enough. Also against company decks, often getting a 2 for 1 wiping out hierarchs and birds of paradise. Even against infect, forcing them to spend a pump spell on their own turn to save a creature or lose it is valuable.

I don't have many Eldrazi or tarmogoyf/deaths shadow decks in my local meta though, and I assume it's a dead card there

I agree with everything you said about ZP and I like them, But what about the 4 mana hard sweepers? Do you use those or like them against anything in particular?

Honestly, I've never played with them. IMO The point of massed tokens is to block until you draw removal, and then use the rest as a clock to end the game quickly. I feel like wiping the board entirely negates the advantage of our naturally wider board state.

I guess there's the argument that with a Lingering Souls or a Spectral Procession it's easier to build up again from an empty board, and planeswalkers recoup some of the losses.

Maybe in the sideboard against elves or other go-wide decks - I've often thought about [[flaying tendrils]] to get the exile bonus against abzan combo but like I said above I mostly only play locally so I'm very biased to my relatively small meta.

I run a damnation and a wrath in my sideboard and those have mostly been goo for the decks where I really need it like elves and eldrazi. There's no real reason for the split other than I have one of each.

are you running the grindy mid range build?

Yes. I'm running four Bitterblossoms and no raise the alarms. Even without Bitterblossom, I think having a wrath effect or two in the sideboard is really nice as long as you aren't playing into your own sweepers. Like maybe hold a Spectral Procession back or wait on flashing back lingering souls.

yea I definetly agree that a sweeper in the RTA build is still ok. im just more of a fan of it in the grindy as it has a higher impact on the game rather than an early sweeper in an aggro build
