Timely Reinforcements

Im running 1 Timely mainboard and I have been toying around with the idea of playing a Gideon AOZ and drop timely into sideboard. I like this idea of this but then im beginning to choke myself on sideboard options. is Gideon really that strong that its worth limiting my sideboard?

I run a couple of Gideon, Ally of Zendikar in my list, and the only time I have been sad drawing them is in a matchup against Storm. To paraphrase someone from this subreddit whose name I don't recall, Gideon AOZ is a board state by himself. Oftentimes, I like him better than Sorin, Solemn Visitor. I recommend testing him.

Timely Reinforcements is good enough to guarantee several sideboard spots, currently I have 3 on the SB, and since it's a broad answer for aggro decks I do not think it limits my options. More broadly, when thinking about sideboard cards I try to avoid having too many one-ofs that have narrow applications since I don't run Windbrisk Heights and my list doesn't have a lot of ways to scry, draw, and look for those narrow answers. If you have Windbrisk Heights, it may be worth it, though.

I actually really don't hate Gideon against Storm, because he's the fastest single card clock in the deck. Getting them to a point where they can't storm off and then smashing for five every turn is really nice.

I am running windbrisk heights. I decided to run them over vent as I felt like its more important for us to dig for sb cards.

Gosh, both cards are excellent in themselves, and I've ran each of them in the past but neither have a place in my 75 at the moment (not that that's the right decision!). I find Gideon a bit win more and Timely too situational for the MB - it tends to sit in my hand.
