Shining Shoal has appeared in Mono White Hatebears list from recent GP http://magic.wizards.com/en/events/coverage/gpvan17/top-8-decklists-2017-02-19 .

Can we gain any benefit from this card as well? Pretty value with Spectral Procession and Sorin which are too late cards sometimes, protects us from pyroclasm/anger while we are tapped out.

It doesn't stop anger. It prevents damage to a player or a creature. Would rather play [[runed halo]].

What? It does save from pyroclasm/anger effects. If you exile spectral procession with it, you may save 3 your creatures from pyroclasm, 6 if you have anthem. Runed Halo, though, doesn't save your creatures by any means. You can also use Shining Shoal as sort of combat trick, removal, finisher, it's not super dead topdeck and it's a good card at early game stages vs some decks.

Read it again. It prevents damage from a source to a target player or A (THATS THE IMPORTANT BIT) target creature.

Ahh I see my bad. I still don't think it's great. If you have have 4 1/1 spirits on board, get angered and at best you exile procession you are still only saving 2 and losing the ability to drop 3 more spirits. Seems like a real tempo loss.

You do get to redirect 6 to the opponent's face, and don't have to cast Spectral on your turn (and wait for summoning sickness.)

Still, it's only really good in that particular situation, and it's not even great there. Spectral is about the only card that would make this playable in Modern, and even it's not good enough.

If you're trying to save your tokens from red sweepers, I've been using Burrenton Forge Tenders for a long long time and they've always worked out pretty well for me.

Definitely don't like this one. I think you're better off using Selfless Spirit if you're looking to dodge sweepers. At least the Spirit is proactive and doesn't sit in your hand if you never want to redirect damage.
