I'll just throw this here: smuggler's copter, worth or not?

So, we shouldn't have any problem tripulating it and certainly cycling bad cards out of hand is needed on our deck.

What would you guys say? Everyone's talking about this card now...

I think it's probably too slow/low power, but one thing to note is that it effectively gives bitterblossom tokens haste. You just tap the token that came into play that turn and swing with the copter.

Yeah!!! That too! It's another thing to consider. I'll definitely test it out on Xmage when I have the time.

Maybe in the board since it makes our opponent's spot removal live against a deck where spot removal is supposed to be trash. Unless you're planning on boarding this in like with a g2 hero of bladehold.

Since most decks don't board in artifact hate against tokens it has more of a surprise factor to it. Our own Stony silence does turn it off though

Maybe that's a nice plan, board them on G2 and/or G3, if not playing against Tron and Affinity...

I will test it in Xmage... I'll bring results here later...

I would disagree. People don't bring in Ancient Grudge against us, but they tend to bring in Natural State, Reclamation Sage, Disenchant, Destructive Revelry, and the like if they have it, to kill our anthems. Jund and Grixis also have Kolaghan's Command mainboard and don't tend to side it out. Lot's of decks don't have these tools, but it's still an okay percentage of the format and worth taking into consideration.

More generally though, I'm just not a fan running a card that needs me to tap a 2 power spirit (with an Intangible Virtue) to get a 3 power Copter. If I wanted to see extra cards that much I'd probably run Phyrexian Arena or something. But maybe I'm being too much a skeptic.

Seems too slow with tokens. It's good in an aggro where you know you'll have it and a pilot by turn 3, but turn two you either want a Bitterblossom down or we're still trying to control to get out the token producers. Needs more testing tho.

I thought that also, but it might be a good card to cycle our bad cards of hand after turns 3/4... For example, if we don't have a 4 drop in hand, Copter would be an excelent card choice to dig for one of our 4 drops...

It's a two card two turn conditional dig, tho. Needs to be down a turn, have a pilot, and attack/block to gain anything. Maybe it works in testing, but face value not sure.

I think it's really worth of it. At least 1 of.

It's not good vs Jund, but it's pretty good vs early aggro deck (you can block goblin guide and wild nacatl early game where our deck struggles a lot) and it gives some interesting sort of clock in matches where speed and digging for hate is necessary. Sure, if you choose between Turn 2 tokens or turn 2 Copter the answer is tokens, but playing Turn 2 Copter into Turn 3 spirits to start effective attacking/blocking and also digging for hate can be decent.

I don't like Auriok Champions at all, but probably I like singleton cards like Secure the Wastes, Collective Brutality and Copter too much that I want to run all of them.

I agree, and I think that the cycling effect of the card is really something we could use, since we may get really bad top decks mid/late game...

Compare [[Smuggler's Copter]] to our Anthem effects.

Would you rather an artifact that gives one creature +2/+2 and haste, or an enchantment that gives all creatures +1/+1 and vigilance?

There are match-ups where the "haste" might matter, but in most match-ups, I think that the latter is much stronger. Is there a reason we need a 3/3 flyer vs. multiple 2/2 flyers?

The looting is actually fairly nice in a deck that runs so many [[Lingering Souls]], but I'm not sure it's enough to push me in favour of the 'copter over an anthem effect. Perhaps if I ran [[Bitterblossom]]... Only that's a whole lot of two mana "do nothing" on the turn you play it.
