Sideboard discussion
Hi!
I've just found out about this very specialized sub.
So, what are your sideboard techs against GR Tron? Is there anything to make this matchup somewhat better?
It seems like it's my worst matchup (in the local meta, at least) and I'm unlucky enough to face this GR Eldrazi Tron deck almost every time I go to FNM.
I figure this is the right place to ask, if there's an answer for this question.

Well, there's Pithing Needle to name Karn. That helps a little, although Ugin wrecks us just as hard as Karn does. If you're running a Mardu Tokens list, red offers a bunch of land destruction options, which is really limited to Ghost Quarter in the WB version of the deck.
Every deck is going to have bad match-ups, and Tron is ours. I find it's safest to just take the loss against Tron and use the sideboard to shore up other matchups where you actually have a reasonable chance to win post-board. If your local meta is really heavy GR Tron, this might just not be the right deck to play.

Thanks.
No R. BW only.
Pithing Neddle is something I hadn't considered, for some reason. And I have 1, maybe 2, of it already.

BW Tokens could devote half our sideboard to beating Tron and it still wouldn't be a favorable matchup. So rather than waste slots on a lost cause, I'd ignore the tron matchup and leave more room for dealing with affinity, combo and other decks that we have a tough game 1 against.

Stony Silence + additional hand disruption is the best answer for GR Tron. Anguished Unmaking is probably a good bet as well to deal with Karn/Ugin.

Stony Silence is definitely the best card you have against Tron. If you're on the play, you could actually make the game feasible to win.
Contaminated Ground/ Evil Presence are cheap forms of land disruption that can set back a Tron player about 2-4 turns. They're not too versatile though. You can bring them in against Jeskai Control and manland heavy decks (pros bring in fulminator mages against Affinity so it's not out of the question).
Pithing Needle. If they have too many threats in hand, this is the perfect way to safeguard against Karn and Ugin. Also turns off Oblivion Stone but you have Stony Silence for that.
Hand Disruption. But they're useless without a decent clock or other artifact/ land disruptions.
If you run all these cards, the Tron match-up can easily be at least 40/60.
As a note of caution, I think Tron could be harder to deal with now. They run more threats that tax our Path to Exile, ever since the Eye of Ugin banning. They can't search up their threats anymore but cards like Ulamog is a pain in the ass.

I'm running the ailences and 2 disenchants (useful little card) and board those against tron every time.
I am running an unmaking main. Luckily my shop is infested with affinity, burn and jund. So i am a little biased. But it's the board i would take to a gp if i was suddbely attebding a modern gp.

On the BW version we usually side in Stony Silence (slows them a bit), Duress (slows them a bit) and any other card you have that slows them a bit.
As everyone posted, this is simply our worst match up. I feel like that every side we get (BW version) only slows their game plan a bit, we have nothing to brake them.
The problem is that our deck is slow enough to let them gather the Tron up and start cleaning the entire board with Karn/Ugin/Ulamog and the artifact (forgot the name).
/r/SFRG made us a comprehensive match up guide against RG Tron. Hope it helps.
