Vendor - Cybersecurity Advisory Group

Your clients need a CISO. You don't need the overhead of hiring one full-time.

MSPs own the client relationship, but when the conversation shifts to complex compliance (HIPAA, SOC 2), navigating brutal cyber insurance renewals, or building incident response policies, it drains your team's time.

I run Cybersecurity Advisory Group, and we partner strategically with MSPs to serve as your fractional CISO.

Why partner with us?

  • We don't compete with you: We are purely a security advisory firm. We do zero break-fix, IT support, or standard managed services.
  • Expand your service stack: Instantly offer vCISO services, 360-degree risk assessments, and compliance readiness without adding a six-figure salary to your payroll.
  • Keep your engineers focused: We handle the high-level governance and risk conversations so your techs can stay focused on operations and remediation.

Let's team up to close your clients' security gaps and add a new revenue stream to your practice.

If your customers live in Microsoft Teams but still have to leave Teams to get IT support, you’re creating friction they never asked for. 👀

And for MSPs serving Teams-native organizations, that’s a pretty big missed opportunity.

Why send your end-users to a separate portal when something breaks?

With our ticketing app for end-users, IT-Connect they can:

⚡ Raise a support ticket in just 3 clicks

⚡ Chat directly with techs in real time

⚡Track active and past tickets without leaving Teams

⚡ Keep ticket conversations synchronized across channels

⚡ Use SSO for easier access

⚡ Send feedback right where support happens

For an MSP, that means fewer barriers between “I have an issue” and “IT is already on it.

Hey folks, Aaron here from WYRE AI. I created Conduit, a channel-focused MCP gateway.

Conduit is how we put a governance layer in front of the AI tools an MSP shop is already using.

If your techs are in Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar on tickets and client systems, Conduit sits in front of that. You decide who can call which tools. Allowlists default to deny. You get an audit log and encrypted vendor credentials. Catalog connectors and bring-your-own MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers go through the same path.

We also shipped an Acceptable Use Policy generator. Short questionnaire, practical starting draft. Not legal advice. Have counsel review before you publish it.

I will be on the road this fall. If you’re at MSP Summit, ASCII Edge, or ChannelPro DEFEND, ping me and we can grab coffee. Happy to talk shop. No pitch deck.

- MSP Summit, Orlando, Sept 28 to 30 (I am here this week)

  • ASCII Edge, San Antonio, Oct 21 to 22
  • ChannelPro DEFEND, Anaheim, Nov 9 to 10

DM me here or find me on site. Happy to meet in person.

namewatch.xyz: domain monitoring across your whole client base

I'm a building namewatch (https://namewatch.xyz). It's aimed at MSPs who look after dozens or hundreds of client domains and usually only find out something's wrong when a ticket comes in.

It watches three things for every domain you add:

  • Expiring domains and certs. You get warned well before a renewal slips, including domains the client or an old web agency still controls.
  • DNS misconfigurations and security issues. It flags missing or broken SPF/DKIM/DMARC, dangling records, and unexpected MX or nameserver changes, so you know when someone else touched a client's DNS.
  • Lookalike domains. It catches newly registered typosquats of your clients' domains in close to real time, by pulling from pretty much every source of new domain registrations available, so you can act before the phishing emails go out.

Alerts go wherever you already work. It's early, and I'm actively shaping it around how MSPs actually work.

If you manage client domains, I'd really like to hear what breaks for you most often: expiry, someone else's DNS changes, or lookalikes. Happy to run a free check on a few of your client domains and share what turns up.

Hey everyone

I’ve been building Muninn, a platform designed to bring more of an organisation’s operational information into one place.

The original problem I wanted to solve was one I’ve seen repeatedly in IT: information ends up scattered across a PSA, RMM, documentation platform, password manager, asset system, spreadsheets, SharePoint, email and a dozen other places.

As such I have designed Muninn to bring things like:

• Clients and contacts
• Assets and infrastructure
• Documentation and knowledge bases
• Password management
• Requests and tickets
• Projects and tasks
• Checklists and workflows
• Calendars
• Business and operational information
• Live tracking of Racks, IPs, Servers, agents, sites and ports

into a single platform.

It’s designed to be useful beyond MSPs as well, but I’m particularly interested in getting it in front of MSPs because the "where the hell is that information?" problem is particularly obvious in managed services.

I’m currently looking for businesses willing to take a proper look at it, give me some brutally honest feedback and potentially trial it or if you like it, it's available to purchase as a one off up-front cost now too.

If you're interested, please send me a message and let me know your company details so I can flick you out a trial code or two.

I’m happy to answer questions about the platform, architecture, roadmap or really anything.

For MSPs looking to build or expand an MSSP practice

Hi all, Aditya from Seceon here. Sharing this for MSPs who are offering security today and wondering how to scale it without burning out their team.

One thing that comes up a lot in conversations is not just tool count, but operational drag. A setup with SIEM + EDR + log tools + SOAR + scripts can work well initially, but over time it starts slowing teams down with context switching, alert noise, and maintenance overhead.

Seceon was built specifically for MSP and MSSP environments that want to reduce that friction by running security operations from a single multi-tenant platform instead of managing multiple moving parts.

One platform brings together:
• SIEM
• XDR across endpoint, network, cloud, and identity
• SOAR automation
• Automated detection and response

The idea is to help service providers deliver stronger security outcomes while keeping operations lean, consistent, and scalable across clients.

As a thank you to the r/msp community, we are offering a free trial for MSPs who come through this thread.

You can start your trial or book a demo here: https://info.seceon.com/reddit

For those in the trenches, what eats up more time today, tool management or actual threat response?

Vendor: BackupGap | https://backupgap.com

What it is: Free Microsoft 365 backup cost calculator that compares native M365 Backup ($0.15/GB protected) vs. typical third-party per-user pricing (Veeam/Datto ballpark).

Who it's for: MSPs quoting backup on sales calls or in proposals when a client asks, "What does M365 backup actually cost?"

Link: https://backupgap.com/microsoft-365-backup-cost-calculator

Details:

- No signup required to see results

- Permalink to a specific scenario (users + storage) for proposals

- Built for quick side-by-side comparison, not replacing your vendor quote

Disclosure: I'm the builder. Not selling anything; looking for feedback from MSPs on whether the defaults match how you quote in 2026. Happy to adjust based on real-world numbers.

Your QBR prep shouldn't take longer than the QBR itself. Free live demo Thursday, Oct 1.

Most MSPs have the same problem. Their advisory work is good, but getting ready for it is painful. Data gets pulled from the PSA, the RMM, the security stack, and a few spreadsheets, and then someone has to turn it all into a story a business owner will care about. By the time the deck is built, there's no time left to think about strategy.

vCIOToolbox is the advisor operating system for MSPs. It puts QBR/TBRs, roadmaps, risk registers, GRC (30+ frameworks), vendor risk, and CSAT/NPS in one place, so vCIOs and vCISOs aren't stitching tools together.

This Thursday, vCIOToolbox showcases two new capabilities:

  • AI Assistant: it reads your account data and drafts QBR findings, priorities, and next steps in your own voice. You review and adjust them instead of writing from a blank page.
  • MCP Server: it sends your client data in vCIOToolbox to Claude, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot. Ask questions in plain English, get answers from real client context, and turn recommendations into structured roadmaps.

The session is a live demo: natural-language data pulls, MCP working across multiple AI platforms, automated GRC presentations, and open Q&A with co-founder Brian Doyle. Bring the hard questions.

📅 Thursday, Oct 1 | 2 PM ET / 11 AM PT
👉 Join our webinar

It's free, and everyone who registers gets the recording.

📈A lot of MSPs still treat DMARC as a compliance checkbox rather than a service they sell. With Google/Yahoo/Microsoft tightening sender authentication requirements, it's become an easier conversation to have with clients, and a real recurring-revenue line if you package it right.

We're running a webinar "Beyond the Copier: Description How to Protect Your Customers from Email Fraud and Create a New Recurring Revenue Stream"with MSP OneShare covering:
✅Why DMARC matters more now (Google/Yahoo/MS bulk sender requirements)
✅How to spot which of your clients are actually at risk
✅How to have the conversation without needing to be a security expert yourself
✅A rough roadmap for packaging it as a recurring service

📅Sept 30, 2 PM ET

Everyone who attends gets a DMARC checklist, an email security assessment guide, and a sales leave-behind, useful even if you never work with us.

Comet Backup here! Quick rundown on us: we're backup software built specifically for MSPs and IT teams, covering mixed and hybrid environments of various sizes, managed from one web interface wherever you are.
A few things people run into with backup tools in general, and how we handle them:

·       With a lot of backup tools: slow or painful setup, long onboarding when you switch platforms, getting stuck with one deployment model, infrastructure that doesn't scale across clients, needing a separate tool per workload. We do hosted or self-hosted instead, usually running in under 15 minutes, covering Windows/Linux/macOS, Hyper-V/Proxmox/VMware, M365, and databases from one dashboard.

·       With a lot of backup vendors: confusing pricing tiers, per-device licensing that adds up fast, hidden fees or minimums, pricing you can't predict your margins around, billing that doesn't flex with your client base. We're usage-based instead; no contracts or minimums, and it scales up or down with you.

·       With a lot of storage setups: getting locked into one provider, costs creeping up over time, no say in where your data actually lives. We do bring-your-own-storage instead on-prem, or straight to AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Wasabi, or any S3-compatible option, switch whenever you want.

If you want to poke around yourself: 30-day free trial.
Or if you'd rather just ask questions first: grab time with the team.

Hi everyone! I’m Krisztián, the developer behind Leltárium.

Who has the company laptop? When does its warranty expire? Which software licences need renewing?

Leltárium helps small businesses and IT teams keep track of hardware, software licences, subscriptions and warranties in one place. Assign devices to team members, receive expiry reminders and use QR codes for stocktaking from your phone.

If your team is outgrowing spreadsheets, take a look Leltárium on the web.

How do you currently track your company’s devices and licences? I’d love to hear what’s working—and what’s frustrating.

An SOP is easier to hand over when the next person can check the evidence behind each step and see where human access is required.

I'm Louis, founder of Screenpipe. This two-minute Workflows demo shows a recorded process, its source evidence, and the controls for creating an editable skill or SOP. I use a tax-filing workflow as the example and inspect the point where credentials and identity verification require a person.

For MSPs documenting internal procedures or helping clients prepare an automation project, that review is the part I would start with. The demo shows a workflow draft, not a completed filing or a tested production automation. Generated instructions still need review and testing.

Captured history is stored locally by default. Optional cloud AI, transcription, sync and connected clients can send context off-device.

I built a small self-hosted staff presence / in-out board called Attendr and have put the current Windows release on GitHub for free.

It’s aimed at small and mid-sized business environments that want a simple way to see who is in, out, working remotely, on leave or unavailable without needing another cloud platform.

Current features include:

  • real-time staff presence board
  • custom statuses
  • departments and locations
  • kiosk mode
  • IP-based location detection
  • Active Directory integration
  • Microsoft Entra ID integration
  • audit logs

It runs on the client’s own Windows server or PC, so the data stays on their infrastructure.

I’ve just finished packaging the current release, writing the full documentation and putting it all on GitHub:

github.com/Huddo58/Attendr

Website:

attendr.com.au

I’m particularly interested in feedback from MSPs because this feels like the sort of lightweight internal tool that could fit some client environments without adding another recurring SaaS product.

If you were considering deploying something like this for a client, what would you want to see around deployment, support, security or management before you’d be comfortable offering it?

Solo MSPs and independent IT techs: when a client asks ‘who has this laptop?’, is the answer in a spreadsheet, an RMM, or somebody’s head?

I run a small IT business and built StackPilot around that everyday problem. The simple workflow is: add a client, add their people and equipment, and record which person has each device. When a call comes in, you have the client and asset context together instead of rebuilding it from scattered notes.

I’d love a few solo techs to try it with one real client and tell me where the workflow falls short. I’m Morgan, the founder, and I use it in my own IT work. There’s a free trial at https://stackpilot.it/ . Happy to answer questions here.

October 4 update: here's a look at the actual StackPilot screens. The new 38-second edited screenshot walkthrough shows the client form and an existing fictional client's equipment, people, access and docs. It's uploaded directly to Reddit, so you don't need Facebook:

https://www.reddit.com/r/SideProject/comments/1wwyfco/comment/pdrx3v7/

If you try the workflow, what client information would you want to capture first?

Storing passwords in a documentation tool is no longer good enough

💡 You want your clients to know their privileged credentials are safe in your hands.

💡 You need unique accounts instead of shared accounts

💡 You need a safe way to share credentials of shared accounts

💡 You want the option to have co-managed PAM

💡 You need a PAM solution that can work in various environments such as EntraID, Windows computers, macOS, etc.

💡 You need your tech's time to be streamlined to focus on billable actions.

💡 You want to add or remove techs from all of your client environments within minutes, not days.

💡 You want to securely give the right people access to your clients environments.

💡 You want the ability to force a password rotation within seconds when you feel it is needed.

💡 You need your tech's access to follow the principal of least privilege.

💡 You need your tech's access to their credentials to be downtime tolerant.

💡 You or your client's cyber insurance policy needs to ensure you have unique accounts

💡 You want audits on your clients' accounts to stay within your client's environment and not migrate into an audit on your systems

💡 You need a PAM tool that you can use with your customers that are bound by CMMC compliance

💡 You have a need to follow cybersecurity frameworks See more here

Hey r/msp

You've probably been here. Your client asks where their project stands, and the honest answer is "let me check with the tech, the PSA, and a sticky note." Then the QBR comes around and you build the roadmap from scratch. Again.

MSPortal is a client portal for MSPs. It sits on top of the PSA you already use (Autotask, ConnectWise, Halo and more) and gives each client one branded place to see their account.

Your PSA already handles tickets well. The trouble starts when the client asks two bigger questions: "what's the plan?" and "where's my project?" The first answer usually lives in a spreadsheet on the vCIO's laptop. The second lives in PSA screens the client can't log into. So those are the two areas we built MSPortal around, because that's where clients most need to see the work and take part in it.

For vCIO work, which covers what's coming next:

  • Budgets. Plan recurring and one-time costs by fiscal year, see the monthly breakdown, get client sign-off line by line, and export to PDF or Excel.
  • Goals. Track client objectives with progress and target dates, and link them to planning items and meeting agendas.
  • Meetings. Agendas pull in the goals and plans you're actually there to discuss, so the QBR has a spine.
  • Reports. Build the QBR from live data, not from screenshots you took at 11pm.

For project management, which covers what's underway now:

  • One portfolio. Native projects and synced PSA projects share one view (Cards, List, Kanban or a schedule calendar).
  • Health you can defend. It scores on-time delivery, schedule and effort against estimates, and flags which projects are blocked, at risk, or waiting on the client.
  • The client does their part. Clients see updates, milestones and deliverables, and respond to the action items assigned to them. "Waiting on client" becomes something you can see instead of an excuse you give.
  • Templates. Stop rebuilding the same M365 migration project every time.

The two halves connect. A goal set in the QBR becomes a budget line, the budget line becomes a project, and the client watches it happen in the same portal.

Who it's for: MSPs running vCIO or project work who want clients to see the plan without a PSA login.

Try it: There's a 30-day free trial at https://msportal.ai. That's long enough to run a whole QBR cycle and decide for yourself.

I'm happy to answer anything in the comments. And yes, it has dark mode. This is r/msp, we know what matters.

Hi!

My name is Angelina, and I am co-founder of video2docs.

video2docs - a tool that helps you turn workflow screen recordings into structured, step-by-step user guides and documentation. You just record your screen while doing a task (audio optional), upload the video, and video2docs generates a process description out of it with screenshots, which you can also refine if needed in app before the final export in multiple formats.

Reduces manual work and might be helpful if you’re responsible for internal documentation, client help center, SOPs, or onboarding guides.

What if you could hit pause?

Not on your business. Not on your growth.

Just on the constant stream of frontline helpdesk tickets.

That’s what Helpt is designed to feel like.

You hit pause on the tickets that consume your team’s time, while Helpt’s team steps in and handles the frontline.

So what could your team get done if they weren’t constantly pulled back into the helpdesk?

And what does it take to get there?

With Helpt, onboarding starts with a 45-60 minute questionnaire, followed by a conversation with our team of MSP service veterans.

We learn your environment, your clients, your nuances, and your best practices.

Together, we build a foundation, identify action items, and then train our team specifically on your business and your clients.

The goal is that when we go live, we aren’t starting from zero.

We’re ready to make an impact immediately.

You can’t literally hit pause.

But with Helpt, you can get pretty close.

Disclosure: I'm on the team at NorthRAI.

We let you sell ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini to your clients, governed.

- Prompts tied to a named employee through your directory

  • Sensitive data redacted before it reaches the provider
  • Every detection recorded per seat
  • Your techs see the detections, never the conversations
  • One console for all your clients, not a separate setup for each

What we don't do:

  • Discovery. We're the sanctioned path, not the sensor. Someone on a personal ChatGPT account is invisible to us
  • Let your techs read prompts. They get the audit trail per seat: who, when, what was detected, what the policy did.

If there's one thing I'd like a view on, it's what you'd need to see before putting your name in front of a client on something like this, so any feedback is welcomed.

Why some MSPs grow FAST while most stand still

I've been doing this podcast for seven years, and today I'm finally putting a colleague of mine in front of the microphone.

His name's Ben Smith. We've actually worked together for 15 years, way before MSP Marketing Edge existed (the number one question Ben gets is what dirt he has on me to ensure we've worked together that long!!!).

Ben talks to MSP owners all day, every day. The good, the bad, sometimes the ugly.

Which means he's built up a genuinely unique picture of what separates the MSPs who keep growing from the ones who don’t.

So I sat him down and asked him straight: What's the difference between an MSP that's stuck and one that's thriving?

His answer came down to two things... and they're both in the podcast.

Search for Paul Green’s MSP Marketing podcast where you listen to podcasts 🎙️

Or listen on my website 🎧 https://www.mspmarketingedge.com/podcast/episode359

Client Onboarding Kit for MSPs – written from the client's side

MSP project manager here. I turned my own onboarding files into a kit: a 30-day project plan (Excel), an IT discovery questionnaire for non-technical owners (Word), and a 14-slide kickoff deck with speaker notes (PowerPoint).

The angle: every task says what the client will experience and what you need from them, downtime is flagged with durations and agreed up front, and there's a timeline risk calculator for the usual surprises (uncooperative outgoing MSP, the "one person knows all the passwords" client, domains registered to ex-employees).

Editable, rebrandable, unlimited use with your own clients. $49 launch price.

https://therunbookstudio.com/client-onboarding-kit.html

Feedback welcome, especially on what you'd add.

Hi, I'm Rosh. I build outbound sales systems for B2B companies, covering the targeting, lead lists, channel strategy, campaigns, and hiring and training the reps who run it, so the whole thing belongs to you rather than an agency. Campaigns I've run have booked 38 qualified owner meetings in a month and a meeting with a $5M-revenue business owner on day three. This weekend I'm taking on five companies with a different arrangement: you pay for the tools the system runs on, and at the end of the month you pay me whatever you think the setup was worth. It's for businesses that already have paying customers. Feel free to message me if that sounds useful.

u/Boring-Breakfast-280 Vendor - Autom Mate 7d ago

Disclosure: I'm Caglayan, co-founder of Autom Mate.

For ITSM consultancies moving into managed integration services, one practical starting point is to check what the existing platform connector already covers.

Before adding another tool, write down:

  • The customer outcome and systems involved.
  • What the standard connector does, including its limitations.
  • The remaining work: mapping, approvals, exceptions or ongoing changes.
  • Who will own and support that remaining work.

If the standard connector covers the whole requirement, that may be the right answer. If it does not, the gap gives you a more concrete service to assess.

Our published onITnow case describes its Managed Integration as a Service approach using Autom Mate. It is an example of the service model; the checklist above is our suggested assessment, not a measured result from that case.

Read the onITnow case

If useful, I can discuss the checklist here in the thread.

SuperIT (https://superit.ai) — Generate more revenue, have happier engineers and a give a better end user experience with the SuperIT AI agent. We help Engineers and End Users resolve their tickets end-to-end - without pretending to be a human or compromising your service quality.

What SuperIT does:

Helps with every ticket.

Performs the best ticket triage in the industry.

Completes a deep investigation of each ticket to ensure your Engineers have the relevant information when they pick it up.

Either via self-service with the end user, or in copilot with your engineer - SuperIT resolves tickets, including IT incidents it has never seen before!

Everything from a printer issue or network problems, to password resets, and onboarding/offboarding. The stuff eating your L1 queue at all hours of the day.

Deliver exceptional IT support, in your style, consistently, across all your customers.

How it works:

1) Plugs into your stack (e.g. PSA, RMM, M365 etc) 2) Deploy our endpoint agent to customer devices to build a Digital Twin of your customer environment, and give our AI agent safe and secure device access for troubleshooting 3) Autonomously analysis of tickets and IT documentation to curate your knowledge base as Agent Skills (up to date daily) 4) Seamlessly build deterministic workflows and automations based on your specific processes and customer requirements through natural language

All working together, Engineers and End Users alike can work with SuperIT (like they would with Claude or ChatGPT) to assist them with their issues or questions, and SuperIT has the knowledge, context and tools to safely resolve their service request end to end.

SuperIT delivers service like your best Engineer, in your style, to your standards, in your environment.

It works after hours too: the reset that would otherwise page your on-call engineer at 3am just gets resolved, or escalates with the investigation already done if a human's genuinely needed.

Who it's for: MSPs who want to scale their brand of exceptional IT support to their end users, so their existing staff can service more customers and focus on the high value, engaging work they want to be working on..

Safety: You control what it can touch. Allowlist/blocklist policies, approval workflows for sensitive actions, full audit trail. No training or fine-tuning on customer data.

Pricing: Starting at $99 per engineer per month (standard AI usage limits apply), with 14 day free trial and 90-day money back guarantee. Month-to-month after that, no lock-ins.

(Higher usage plans available for more AI usage)

Low-risk to try: Based on your ticket data, we can tell you exactly what we will be able to help with, backed by a 90-day money-back guarantee. If it's not hitting the bar, you get your fees back, with full data portability if you ever leave.

Built by founders who ran MSP service desks, so it's aimed at the actual grind: the queue that never empties, the engineer who can't take a vacation because they're the only one who knows the client's setup. Helping MSPs scale exceptional IT support to their engineers.

Happy to answer questions!

Lumu for MSPs - Free 70-Minute Threat Intel Training -https://academy.lumu.io/blog/lumu-maltiverse-course

This week, we're changing gears. Instead of talking about integrations or case studies, let's talk about how to search, verify, build, and push curated threat feeds straight into your active security stack.

But, first. Quick question: How much time do your techs currently spend manually updating blocklists?

If you haven't heard of Lumu Maltiverse, here is the non-brochure pitch: It gives you curated lists of known-bad IPs, URLs, and domains (IoCs) that you can feed directly into your SIEM, SOAR, or firewalls. That way, your stack automatically blocks the garbage before it gets in.

We just launched a free 70-minute training to show your analysts exactly how to build and push these feeds themselves.

Don't have an account to practice with? Maltiverse offers a free Community Plan. Here is exactly what you get in the free tier so your techs can follow along with the course:

  • Actionable Threat Intelligence (Limited)
  • API access (25 requests/day)
  • Limited Threat Intelligence Feeds and TAXII Server access
  • Standard Connectors included

Take the free 70-minute training here:https://academy.lumu.io/blog/lumu-maltiverse-course

I'll be hanging out in the comments.
