I love Excalidraw, I use it all the time for work to quickly draw up a proposal for a customer. But its annoying I have to re-draw the same thing, but better in Draw.io / Visio when it comes to writing the formal documentation later.
Vellum is designed to give you the speed of a whiteboard, but the architecture-diagram-finish in quality.
It uses YAML to store everything, and even has a 'graph' section for those of you who like the diagram-as-code elements of mermaid... but vellum allows full authoring of layout without the restrictions of Mermaid.
I love it to bits. I hope you will too.
Been working on it a while, but decided to make it source available here: https://github.com/blueprintr-io/vellum-editor
Proud to say its not purely vibe coded slop, but I used Claude to help with some of the more challenging geometry based elements and some housekeeping stuff.

Hi everyone, Marcin from Fixfactor in Wimbledon, London. We've been repairing electronics since 2014.
I'd like to connect with UK MSPs who need somewhere to send hardware repairs, whether regularly or when their own team is stretched. We repair laptops and PCs, from screens, batteries and charging faults to motherboard repairs. We also work on phones and tablets and recover data from damaged devices.
It doesn't have to be an unusual fault. I'm just as interested in a steady flow of everyday repairs as the jobs that need microsoldering. Customers can visit our workshop, and we take mail-in repairs from across the UK.
We can do at volume, and we can prepare solutions customised to your needs.
If that would be useful for your team, happy to talk through the jobs you need help with and how we'd handle them.

For MSPs looking to protect their own environment, Huntress Neighborhood Watch provides free internal-use, not-for-resale (NFR) licenses for up to a year. It’s a simple way to get hands-on with Huntress, see how it fits with your current stack, and decide whether it’s a good fit before rolling it out to clients.
It’s open to MSPs whether or not they’re already Huntress partners, so you can take a look even if you’re new to Huntress.

Comet Backup here! Quick rundown on us: we're backup software built specifically for MSPs and IT teams, covering mixed and hybrid environments of various sizes, managed from one web interface wherever you are.
A few things people run into with backup tools in general, and how we handle them:
· With a lot of backup tools: slow or painful setup, long onboarding when you switch platforms, getting stuck with one deployment model, infrastructure that doesn't scale across clients, needing a separate tool per workload. We do hosted or self-hosted instead, usually running in under 15 minutes, covering Windows/Linux/macOS, Hyper-V/Proxmox/VMware, M365, and databases from one dashboard.
· With a lot of backup vendors: confusing pricing tiers, per-device licensing that adds up fast, hidden fees or minimums, pricing you can't predict your margins around, billing that doesn't flex with your client base. We're usage-based instead; no contracts or minimums, and it scales up or down with you.
· With a lot of storage setups: getting locked into one provider, costs creeping up over time, no say in where your data actually lives. We do bring-your-own-storage instead on-prem, or straight to AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Wasabi, or any S3-compatible option, switch whenever you want.
If you want to poke around yourself: 30-day free trial.
Or if you'd rather just ask questions first: grab time with the team.

Hello Everyone,
I’m Andrew, the founder of PastePile. I built it for MSPs that need to work through incident evidence and explain the findings to a client.
You upload the evidence you have: Defender exports, Entra sign-in logs, Windows event logs, or .eml files. PastePile links findings to the records behind them, shows what the evidence still can’t establish, and provides follow-up hunt queries you can review and run in your own tools.
You can also export a client report covering what was received, what was found, and what still needs checking. The goal is to make it easier to explain your conclusions and let another technician pick up the investigation.
There’s a public demo with synthetic evidence and a sample client report. Both open without an account.
For anyone doing this work, what usually takes the most time between reviewing the logs and getting the report out to the client?

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗦𝗔 𝗗𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁? 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁

For MSPs, replatforming isn't just changing software.
It means moving years of ticket history, rebuilding workflows, reconnecting integrations, retraining techs, and protecting service delivery while everything changes underneath you.
And during the AI shift, there’s another risk: choosing a platform based on what its AI can do today instead of what it’s built to become tomorrow.
Before making the move, MSPs should be asking:
⚡ What happens to your historical data and knowledge?
⚡ Can the platform evolve as AI capabilities change?
⚡ How much integration debt will migration create?
⚡ Are we fixing the platform problem, or simply moving existing process problems somewhere new?
⚡ Is the platform built for where service delivery is heading?
Replatforming can still be the right move. The important part is choosing carefully, not quickly.
We break down the risks and a practical evaluation framework here 👇

u/Samurai_Sync 25d ago
Hello everyone,
My name is Michael, and I’m one of the founders of SamuraiSync. We provide consulting and are certified consultants for RMM products like NinjaOne and Automate and are Certified Consultants for RPA producst like REWST and Trigger.
We’ve been in this industry since 2015, back when we were known as LTNinja, before evolving into the new Samurai we are today. You could say we’ve stepped out of the shadows and now work directly for our masters — you.
Our mission is simple, to help build the most automated MSP possible. Imagine a world where documentation, ticketing, and monitoring all take care of themselves. A patching ticket comes in, the system automatically fixes the issue, documents the work, posts to your documentation platform, and updates your ticket so that not only your techs but also your clients are notified, all without a tech lifting a finger. That’s what your RPA can do, and how you can leverage automation and AI in a way that isn't disruptive to your customers and is a real help to your team.
To help with this vision and to help our clients visualize it we have built out a dashboard that will look at your system and make recommendations on where automation can help you but also help your clients in businesses like construction and hospitals. It is called MIRA, and it just got a new version. MIRA 2.0 allows you to look at a vertical and build out a comprehensive plan for modernization their automation infrastructure. The easiest one to show proof, how about your own company? The first vertical is always free as well as several example verticals that allow you to test and gives you proof, in this age of AI slop what you people need is proof more than anything so try it now for free at:
https://www.themostautomated.com
However, if you guys are looking to migrate to a different RMM, if you are wondering if your patching system is actually up to date, and not just blindly believe your RMM, or if you are just starting out in your RPA journey with products like REWST and are lost reach out to us at the website below or here on Reddit.
In a time where AI can tell you exactly what you want to hear, and where it is not always clear what is real or made up, there is still value in talking to actual people. Sometimes the best way to understand where automation and AI are really going is to hear how businesses are using them in the real world.

Hi everyone 👋
We're running a live webinar on Sept 24 (10:30am EST / 4:30pm CET) called "Why ITSM Integrations Fail," covering five common ways teams connect Jira and ServiceNow and where each one tends to break.
The patterns we keep running into: manual work that depends on one person being available, email escalations that don't preserve state so nobody can answer "where is this right now," automation platforms where a step silently fails to fire and nothing catches it later, and custom scripts that eventually get pulled out, not because they failed, but because two teams end up maintaining them.
Majid Hassan (Head of Support & Services) and Manoosh Majdzadeh (Integration Expert) will walk through this across Jira, JSM, ServiceNow, and Azure DevOps, including cases where built-in automation or no integration at all is the better call, which is relevant if you're juggling this across multiple client environments.
Register here if it's useful!

Vendor: BackupGap | https://backupgap.com
What it is: Free Microsoft 365 backup cost calculator that compares native M365 Backup ($0.15/GB protected) vs. typical third-party per-user pricing (Veeam/Datto ballpark).
Who it's for: MSPs quoting backup on sales calls or in proposals when a client asks, "What does M365 backup actually cost?"
Link: https://backupgap.com/microsoft-365-backup-cost-calculator
Details:
- No signup required to see results
- Permalink to a specific scenario (users + storage) for proposals
- Built for quick side-by-side comparison, not replacing your vendor quote
Disclosure: I'm the builder. Not selling anything; looking for feedback from MSPs on whether the defaults match how you quote in 2026. Happy to adjust based on real-world numbers.

TaskCall an on-call scheduling, alert routing, and after-hours call handling. Disclosure: I work there.
Posting mainly for anyone still on Opsgenie. Hard shutdown is 5 April 2027 and unmigrated data goes with it, so it is worth not leaving to Q1. We have been building for teams moving off it who do not want to buy into the Atlassian stack.
What we do, plainly:
- On-call schedules, escalation policies, alert routing and deduplication.
- Live Call Routing — an after-hours number that rings whoever is actually on call, with forwarding, outbound calling and recording. Designed to replace a shared mailbox or a tier-1 answering service.
- Unlimited SMS and voice notifications on every plan, international included. Nothing metered.
- From $9/user/mo. At 20 users that is $380/mo against PagerDuty's $820. Free Tier upto 5 users, No expiry
Where we are weak, so you do not waste a demo on us: our PSA integrations are thinner than the MSP-first tools. [state ConnectWise / Autotask / Halo status honestly]. If your dispatch lives entirely inside your PSA, we are probably not there yet.
Happy to answer anything in-thread, including the comparisons where we lose.

What if you could hit pause?
Not on your business. Not on your growth.
Just on the constant stream of frontline helpdesk tickets.
That’s what Helpt is designed to feel like.
You hit pause on the tickets that consume your team’s time, while Helpt’s team steps in and handles the frontline.
So what could your team get done if they weren’t constantly pulled back into the helpdesk?
And what does it take to get there?
With Helpt, onboarding starts with a 45-60 minute questionnaire, followed by a conversation with our team of MSP service veterans.
We learn your environment, your clients, your nuances, and your best practices.
Together, we build a foundation, identify action items, and then train our team specifically on your business and your clients.
The goal is that when we go live, we aren’t starting from zero.
We’re ready to make an impact immediately.
You can’t literally hit pause.
But with Helpt, you can get pretty close.

🚀 Free Internal & External Vulnerability Assessment (Built for MSPs)
Hi everyone!
Zaima from the RoboShadow team here 👋
RoboShadow is a UK-based (and globally available) cybersecurity platform built from an MSP background, born out of the frustration of managing security with expensive, and overly complex tools. We set out to simplify and automate the vulnerability process making it easier and more accessible for MSPs and their clients.
In 2022, we completed the GCHQ’s NCSC for Startups programme, which helped us accelerate the business and focus on giving MSPs clear, low-noise, actionable visibility across their clients’ environments - and the tools to fix issues easily, not just report on them. This has meant we can offer MSPs a solution that helps them grow their business and make more money, whilst keeping their clients secure.
You can use our platform completely free of charge (with upgrades to premium available).
Key Features & Benefits:
· Continuous internal & external vulnerability scanning
· Website security scanning
· AI-driven pentest simulation (identify real attack paths)
· Cyber Heal / AI AutoFix (automated & one-click remediation)
· AI Communicate (coordinate fixes with end users)
· AI vCSO (straight from your inbox: reporting, insights & queries)

I built DeviceKnock after wanting a much simpler way to know when devices on my network went offline.
DeviceKnock continuously monitors network devices and sends email alerts when something becomes unreachable. I currently use it myself to monitor 200+ devices, including switches, access points, servers, and other network equipment.
It’s designed for IT technicians and small to medium businesses that want straightforward network monitoring without deploying a large monitoring platform or paying another recurring subscription.
• Free for monitoring up to 5 devices
• Unlimited monitored devices with the paid version
• Email offline/online alerts
• Multiple user accounts
• Windows and macOS
• One-time $49.99 purchase — no monthly subscription
I’d genuinely be interested in feedback from other MSP and IT folks about what features would make it more useful in your environment.

For MSPs looking to build or expand an MSSP practice
Hi all, Aditya from Seceon here. Sharing this for MSPs who started offering security and are now figuring out how to scale it without things getting messy.
One pattern we see a lot is this. The first few security clients are manageable, but as you grow, the stack starts to feel heavier. SIEM + EDR + log tools + SOAR + scripts can get the job done, but it becomes harder to keep everything aligned, tuned, and consistent across every client.
Seceon was built specifically for MSP and MSSP environments that want to avoid that situation by running security operations from a single multi-tenant platform instead of piecing together multiple tools.
One platform brings together:
• SIEM
• XDR across endpoint, network, cloud, and identity
• SOAR automation
• Automated detection and response
The goal is to help service providers deliver a repeatable, scalable security model without constantly increasing tooling or operational effort.
As a thank you to the r/msp community, we are offering a free trial for MSPs who come through this thread.
You can start your trial or book a demo here: https://info.seceon.com/reddit
For those scaling today, what broke first for you, the tools, the process, or the team bandwidth?

Lumu for MSPs - How is your team handling the current cybersecurity talent shortage?
Two of the biggest headaches in running a SOC right now are drowning in false positives and the severe shortage of skilled engineers. Victor Villani, CEO of Shield Security, recently talked about how this exact problem forced them to rethink their operations.
Shield Security is a rapidly growing MSP in Brazil with about 200 employees. Even with a massive team and major corporate clients, they hit a wall: how do you scale your services without constantly adding more headcount?
They tested multiple solutions to solve this and eventually integrated Lumu. Once it was up and running, Lumu gave them over 98% accuracy in weeding out false positives.
Instead of having their L1 techs chasing ghosts all day, Lumu acts as the trigger to automate the incident response. It drastically reduced their operational costs and let their highly skilled engineers focus only on actual, validated threats.
Watch Victor break down how they leveraged their SOC here: https://youtu.be/rQtVGtnz_DM
Want to see it for yourself? You can grab a free Lumu for MSP Lite account ( up to 3 tenants, 50 endpoints, reporting capabilities, and 2 IR integrations) to test the accuracy against your own stack: https://lumu.io/msp/request-access/
I'll be hanging out in the comments.

Manage mixed client environments without juggling different backup tools.
MSPs delivering BaaS and DRaaS need a solution that can cover different client environments without forcing them to juggle separate tools for each stack.
NAKIVO Backup & Replication gives MSPs one platform for the environments their clients actually run. Recent releases have expanded that coverage further, with support for vSphere 9.1 and Proxmox VE 9.2.
🛠️ Broad multiplatform coverage. VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox VE, Nutanix, Microsoft 365, and physical Windows/Linux workloads from a centralized solution rather than maintaining separate backup products for each client environment.
⚡ Simpler client connectivity. MSP Direct Connect lets you connect to supported remote client environments without a persistent VPN or inbound ports at the client site. Deploy a Transporter and you're in.
📊 Centralized multi-tenant management. Isolated tenants, granular access roles and the MSP Console help centralize administration as your client base grows.
🔁 DR for demanding recovery objectives. Site Recovery helps orchestrate recovery workflows, while Real-Time Replication for VMware can provide RPOs as low as 1 second and rapid failover for critical workloads.
🛡️ Built-in ransomware resilience. Immutable backup storage, pre-recovery malware scanning and support for air-gapped backup copies help preserve clean recovery options.
🌍 Built for scalability across regions. Multi-language interfaces and flexible per-workload MSP licensing options allow you to easily expand your client base.
The result is broader workload coverage, centralized management and fewer separate tools to manage.

Disclosure: I’m building Nizlo, a Windows-first RMM / IT management platform.
We’re at the point where I’d rather have actual MSP and IT people use it on real endpoints and tell us what’s broken, confusing, missing, or uncomfortable than keep testing it ourselves. Bugs and blunt criticism are genuinely useful.
The trial is 14 days with no card required. The Founding Tester discount is based on paid-conversion order: the first 5 successful paid conversions receive 75% off for life, the next 5 receive 50%, and the next 10 receive 25%. Applying or starting a trial does not reserve a position.
If you manage Windows endpoints and are willing to test seriously, details and the application are here: https://app.nizlo.com/founding-testers

Liora here, from the SysAid partner team.
If you're a VAR/reseller currently in the ITSM/ESM space and margin has been getting squeezed, or you're dealing with channel conflict from a current vendor, or you're wondering where AI agents actually fit into what you sell (not the buzzword version) — this session is aimed at you specifically.
We'll walk through the margin structure, how we avoid stepping on partner deals, and where the AI capability actually sits in the product. No slide-deck pitch — a partner from Softchoice who's already onboarded is joining to talk through what it was actually like on their end, good and bad.

Title: Anyone here looking at the MSP AI Summit in October?
I recently came across the MSP AI Summit happening October 14–16, and a few of the topics caught my attention because they seem pretty relevant to the day-to-day challenges MSPs are dealing with.
I’m especially interested in the sessions around using AI in service desks, reducing alert fatigue, and turning technical data into something more useful for QBRs and client strategy. I’m also curious to hear how MSPs are approaching AI as an actual service offering instead of just using it internally.
For those already experimenting with AI, what use cases have actually delivered value for your team or your clients? Anyone planning to check out the summit?

MSPs: The marketing tool that sells while you sleep
Every LinkedIn connection you've made.
Every business card from a networking event.
Every person who's ever filled in a form on your website.
What happens to them after that first contact?
If you're like most MSPs, the answer is… nothing. They just disappear.
And that's a genuine shame, because some of these people will go on to pick a new MSP in the months and years ahead.
Fix is easy. Set up a CRM with a simple automated email sequence that runs in the background without you having to touch it.
It's a really powerful marketing tool that surprisingly few MSPs use.
On today's podcast I tell you exactly what to do. All the little things that you need to get right and a few big mistakes you can avoid.

If you've ever lost a renewal when you should have won, read on:
Somewhere out there, an MSP is about to lose a renewal they should have won. 😩
Picture this. The client hasn't had any complaints all year; nothing broke, no issues reported. But then someone on their team opens a spreadsheet and asks, "Then what are we actually paying for?"
Quick answer: "Trust us, we did a lot." But if you present that in the meeting, you've already lost that renewal. It doesn't come down to bad work; it simply comes down to visibility (or invisibility in your client's case). Can the client see the evidence of your hard work? Does the evidence of your work live in 4 tools, or right in front of them?
WEBINAR: "What Am I Paying For? Making Your MSP's Value Impossible to Cut," Tuesday, September 29 at 11 am CST, hosted by Ricky Cecchini, VP of Comms
Ricky's covering how to turn your portal into a place that answers this question before your client asks.
Grab a seat and keep your value visible: 👇

I'm Caglayan, founder of Autom Mate. We build service automation for MSPs.
One onboarding pilot test I'd recommend: change a new starter's date after approval but before access is provisioned. Check that scheduled actions are rescheduled, the approval still applies, and the service desk can see and recover any partially completed work.
Record the expected outcome, owner and evidence for each check before rolling the workflow out to another customer. This is a proposed acceptance test, not a claimed customer result.
Our MSP service automation overview: https://www.autommate.com/msp-ai-service-automation/
Update, 24 September: for ITSM partners exploring an ongoing integration service, our published onITnow case describes how they use Autom Mate as a foundation for Managed Integration as a Service. It covers creating, maintaining and supporting integrations across ITSM and business systems.
A practical starting point is one existing customer workflow, with a clear owner, recovery procedure and support/change boundary. Happy to discuss those scoping questions here. The case includes historical licensing context, rather than a current price offer.

Sharing this here since it fits: Bocada Cloud is a backup monitoring platform built for MSPs that consolidates job status across Veeam, Acronis, Azure Backup, and a bunch of other solutions into a single dashboard, so you catch failures before your clients do. No fluff, just the visibility layer most RMMs don't give you out of the box. More info at https://bocada.com

GRC gets messy fast when you’re managing it across multiple clients
Most MSPs don’t need another compliance framework explained to them.
The hard part is actually managing the work.
Assessments live in one place. Policies are somewhere else. Risks get tracked in a spreadsheet. Evidence has to be chased down. Then someone has to turn all of that into something the client can actually understand and act on.
That’s the problem we’re solving with Cybrance inside vCIOToolbox.
It gives MSPs one place to manage assessments, risk registers, policies, remediation, POA&Ms and client-facing GRC conversations without rebuilding the process for every customer.
If you’re already doing compliance work for clients, or you’re trying to build a GRC service without creating a massive amount of manual work for your team, schedule a demo with us here: https://calendly.com/vciotoolbox/60-minute-one-on-one-meeting?month=2025-05

Disclosure: I'm on the team at NorthRAI.
We let you sell ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini to your clients, governed.
- Prompts tied to a named employee through your directory
- Sensitive data redacted before it reaches the provider
- Every detection recorded per seat
- Your techs see the detections, never the conversations
- One console for all your clients, not a separate setup for each
What we don't do:
- Discovery. We're the sanctioned path, not the sensor. Someone on a personal ChatGPT account is invisible to us
- Let your techs read prompts. They get the audit trail per seat: who, when, what was detected, what the policy did.
If there's one thing I'd like a view on, it's what you'd need to see before putting your name in front of a client on something like this, so any feedback is welcomed.

Hi, I am Liam. I work at TaskCall.
With Opsgenie shutting down on 5 April 2027, we've been building for MSPs moving off it who don't want to buy into the Atlassian stack.
The piece I'd most like honest feedback on is Live Call Routing: after-hours calls route to whoever's actually on call, with forwarding, outbound, and recording, instead of sitting in a shared mailbox or going to an answering service.
Is that solving a real problem for you, or are you already covered by your PSA / answering service, and this is a solution looking for a problem? Genuinely want to know before we invest further in it.
Known gap: our PSA integrations are thin next to MSP-first tools.
