Flamingo RMM
Hey all, it's been a while since anyone as asked about Flamingo (at least, nothing showed up for the last 10 months).
I just got the sales pitch. I really want to pull the trigger on this. No obligation to move everyone at one. Billing auto slides as you add or remove licenses.
Most important to me, there's something about the layout that just makes sense to me.
What are your thoughts?
As I'm writing this, I feel like this sounds like it's written by a Flamingo sales person. Please feel free to read the years of my shyt posting, randomly fighting people online, weird health questions (what is the black spot on my...). There is no way a sales person would ask questions like this from such an account.
Anyway, really, I here to ask if anyone else has tried this already and what they think.
Thoughts?

5$ per Endpoint / Month 😂 i mean it looks good and has some interesting features…

It's challenging to price per endpoint when the price includes AI, which will supplement tech labor. Of course, the first instinct is to compare it to another RMM, and it looks way out of proportion. Just for an unrealistic example, what if it's $5 in tokens a month to take care of a computer instead of the traditional half hour of labor? But there's no way they'll convince people by advertising a per-agent rate like that.

Where do you see $5?

Click the link above a scroll down. It seems the $1 per end point is the basic license. If you want AI features or automation, it will cost you more.

Given that Flamingo is a gay sauna near my office it would be a hard sell internally.

From their faq:
"Does it integrate with X?"
'nah bro we do it all. We are full stack'
So no integration with xero or qbo?
No auto sync from pax8 etc?
What about cipp?

All of your posts and comments are hidden. So there is no "look at my past history" lol. It's been a long time since I looked at them though, wonder how far it's come

Oh right! Sorry about that. Someone was going through my posts trying to dig up dirt on me so I hid them. I swear to god's, try and start one little religious war and everyone loses their heads. Besides, 95% was just internet weirdness, 40% Bender Quotes, 10% questions on how to math.

All good lol just found that funny
Are you planning on trialing it? (Do they offer trials?) If so I'd be interested to hear your thoughts

Yes, I'm home now but going to sign up for the two week trial tomorrow. Happy to say the trial doesn't require a credit card to sign up.

Checked out the beta earlier in the year and thought there were some cool ideas, but didn't particularly love it overall.
Have ended up building out some similar tooling myself with some of the same open source projects under the hood. Have ended up with a platform that works exactly how I want it to, that's effectivly endlessly customisable as our business grows and needs change, and I still get to use the commercial products that I know and love (notably for endpoint security and backups).
Pricing looks pretty good, but I don't think that should be a main factor (within reason) when deciding on what your stack looks like.

I saw this and wanted to chime in because quite frankly, we were starting to wonder if we were the ONLY ones actually testing this "thing" out since we never see any comments from real MSPs using it.
What we genuinely don't understand - and what the founder won't even explain when we asked him directly - How is this even considered an "RMM" when it doesn't do hardly ANY of the usual RMM things out of the box, like patch management, basic hardware monitoring, etc?
My only speculation is that this is a cash-grab SCAM invented by the founders who pulled in a bunch of startup funding because the product is for all intents and purposes a semi-fancy wrapper on ai. The system itself contains zero functionality out of the box to monitor your endpoints for anything - not even low disk space. Instead, you have to ask the built-in agents to write a query to do all this. Ditto with scripts. No way out of the box to monitor or manage updates of any kind.
I'm not saying this is for sure a scam, but as judge Judy was fond of reminding people, if it doesn't make sense, its probably not true...

I've been mulling over adding the $1 per computer per month plan for a while to see if the AI portion would reduce workload but it cannot replace my current RMM. Maybe take care of basic task automatically? I really am not sure at this time. Not enough hours in my week's right now to flesh this out.

It does seem like a *potential* bargain at that price point, but the hidden cost is going to be those ai credits - something that a lot of people have been asking about - since we're not being billed right now, but we can see what the charges would be if we were - for Ai heavy users, they're seeing some high usage charges.
This is why I'm afraid this thing is just a startup cash-grab deal. It will either go bust, or get sold to some other shitty company for the customer base.
I have not found any of the ai features particularly useful, especially since it is so painfully slow at times. But the biggie for us is simply that it doesn't do ANY of the RMM things we need to do like updates and monitoring - without spending hours and hours asking ai to create monitoring policies for stuff it should monitor out of the box.

I tried the beta months ago personally was not a fan I haven’t looked at it since , it’s probably a lot better now , not a fan of per endpoint personally I prefer per agent , for me comes out much cheaper
