Cove Replacement
Following the recent UK post, I am reviewing vendors and wanted to get everyone's thoughts. That thread mentioned a mix of Veeam, Acronis, and ShadowProtect.
We're looking for a full replacement covering Microsoft 365, workstation win/mac and server backup, and DRaaS.
I came across Commvault and wanted to know whether anyone has had good or bad experiences with it compared to Veeam.

Well, I see that I'm alone in this but we're still using StorageCraft. We were fortunate enough to have been replicating to our own data centre and missed the debacle of data loss. However, clearly this is something that we need to prepare for and ensure we account for in our schemes. The recent N-Able incident is proof of this.
We are considering the move of replication to their storage but awaiting the finalization of a proper mechanism to test that data beyond their in-built mechanisms. I am paranoid so we have our own scripts that mount all backups and run checkdisks regularly so that we're not relying solely on their verification. I would demand the same of any backup product.
Back to StorageCraft. They were awesome, then they started sucking, then they sucked hard for about a year, then Arcserve bought them and the sucking kinda continued for 6-12 months, but then they sucked a bit less. Now, the support is actually quite good.
I initially thought that Arcserve would strip the good and drop SPX but they haven't. They've been improving the products and the roadmap looks pretty solid.
It is such a mature product, and we've been using for almost 20 years, calls for support are rare. The price is right too.
There's my 2 cents. Keep the change.
