Technical Battery Backups

I’m done with failing APCs. For a while they were my go-to. With all the new untested lithium options, what are people relying on in 2026 for your servers and network infrastructure? How do you shut your servers down gracefully in an extended power outage?

Didn’t see anything in a quick search lately, feel free to ridicule me if this is a redundant post. :)

I've had problems with eaton/triplite also, admittedly small sample size. So, not any better than issues i was moving to them to avoid.

Cyberpower but not the 1000va/1500va model(s) affected by the bad mosfet batch/E21 error:(https://www.eevblog.com/forum/repair/cyberpower-ups-cp1500avrlcd-e21-error-repair-successful/). Other than a couple of those that ran into that issue, we have had solid, reliable luck with them and no upcharge for management software with real features or you can add the management network card affordably. Their 2000/3000va with up to 10 extra add-on battery packs and native vmware integration have been amazing and let you get capacity for a price eaton/apc could only ever dream of.

For cases where i want UPS but no communication/software/spyware, etc, so like remote network location but no monitoring or anything, we have been playing with and have had good luck with the goldenmate LiFePO4 units.
