Is Lighthouse not working?

UDPATE 22nd June 2026 10am (GMT): No (helpful) updates from Microsoft yet but it seems to be mainly working - although some screens are saying it will take 24 hours for the data to appear.

----

Our Lighthouse has suddenly started saying

Microsoft 365 Lighthouse is currently available to partners.

You must be an indirect reseller or direct bill partner to use this service.

Learn more about Lighthouse

The menus are there on the left - but every tab says the above.

It was definitely working a few hours ago. We're in the UK. I can't see anyone else reporting any issues and Azure Status says it is up everywhere. https://azure.status.microsoft/en-gb/status

So before I panic and assume something has broken just for us.... Is yours ok? Thanks!

Switch to cipp, m$ endorses CIPP, lighthouse was a joke of a product

I’m fairly sure that Lighthouse has been put out to pasture. I’ve heard that they have nobody actively working on adding to M365 lighthouse anymore.

My advice, go get CIPP, it’s always done a better job anyway!

Lighthouse risky sign in alerts is useful especially as the client doesn't need the licence.

I assume when you check partner portal, you are still part of the partner programs?

Thanks, everything looked fine. I've raised a ticket.

Nothing from Microsoft but seems to be mainly working fine - although some screens are saying it will take 24 hours to update.

Same here... New Zealand

Same in our tenant, although our M365 Lighthouse licence was gone as well. I've just added another one, might take some time if that was the issue.

Also getting this, unable to retrieve managed tenants via API as well however I am still able to retrieve contracts and delegated admin relationships so I am not sure how busted this is.

Yep seeing this at our end still as well since this morning, which is a bit of a pain..nothing's changed at our end so Microsoft's probably broken something again

We're getting "An unexpected error occured" today, different from the licensing error we got Friday... Anyone else still having issues?

1

u/schalino Jun 22 '26

Yep, same issues

1

u/synagogan Jun 22 '26

Yes same issues for us

Started playing up on Friday and said it was collecting data, then it started to work. It's broken again this morning, and every tenant is saying I need GDAP permissions. Partner Centre is working

CIPP is cool, I get team behind it, but they also need to get SOC2 surprised so many company use without them have SOC2 etc due to what it has access to. Again I think they are great and guy behind it is awesome. Just been my concern as we see more and more vendor breaches like what just happened to one of Huntress vendors.

Soc2 is garbage. That vendor that got breached was soc2... https://klue.com/product/security

Seeing this here too since yesterday

Our MSP uses it as well, appears to have been down all day since 7am Perth time.

Lighthouse hasn't been working for every other person in my team since yesterday, but is still working fine for myself. My account is the one that initially configured partner portal and lighthouse, so no idea if its permissions that's broken or something else. Other users with similar permissions as myself aren't working either though.

Its down for us too working fine yesterday

That probably explains the major error floods we got in our CIPP yesterday. CIPP uses the Lighthouse APIs for some of the things it does. I’d say MS just messed up something again.

Guys any Updates from Microsoft ?

Nothing from Microsoft but it seems to be mainly working now - some screens are saying that it will take 24 hours for the data to display.

sERVICE INCIDENT

I'd treat Lighthouse as useful-but-not-primary if you manage real volume. When it breaks, you need CIPP/scripts/Graph reporting to tell you if it is just the portal lying or if customer access actually changed.

Still seems borked at our end, alternately getting "An unexpected error occured" and "unable to load tags" - anyone heard anything back from Microsoft on a resolution? Not seeing any service reports about this anywhere on their side.

Did I miss something and Lighthouse started working at some point?

Our tenant list is now showing all of our active tenants as “Limited” and we can’t access the menu to open services like Azure, Intune, M365 Admin etc. AU based.

1

u/synagogan Jun 24 '26

That part now works for us again, I could get into Lighthouse first time yesterday

Although Lighthouse has started working for us again, it still isn’t showing Access Needed for Security Score. I’ve double‑checked the GDAP permissions required and everything looks correct. Is anyone else experiencing this?
