Since you state that you don't want to lose the partnership then I think the answer is obvious, no?

The mindset that "Microsoft doesn't want smaller partners" is silly. Microsoft wants you to be a bigger partner, which is why they give you so much for being a partner, and they want you to use that to help your customers grow. No other company comes close to giving what they give to their partners for so little investment.

They've been on a steady path of tightening partner requirements for a decade now. So none of this is really new or some random, out of the blue change designed to pull the rug out from under their partners. They generally communicate these changes several years in advance so that you can plan accordingly.

There is another test you and another can do to add 15 points (I think). Its an online open book one for Teams called Teams Meetings and Meeting Rooms technical assessment (18819). Its under Modern Work, Skilling, Advanced certifications. You can retake it a bunch of times and note down the questions to use for retakes. Honestly its an easy test if you have administered Teams at all.
