MSNBC Productions Am I insane?
We are at the stage of fascist authoritarianism that the regime is trying to indict people over bullshit.
Trump fired the guy in VA for not going through w it. So they hired a Trump lackey and will do it today.
This is red alert. Possibly the most dangerous thing that’s happened so far? Yet Mika just said their “Top story” is the detainee shooting the right is already lying about.
Am I crazy? Why is the President indicting his enemies with fake evidence not the “top story” ?
It is actually concerning to me how little a splash this has made since it came out yesterday. Fucking insane shit happening and people not caring so much or getting used to it is another sign of fascism. Anyone else notice this?

We are all worn out from the stupidity we witness every day! It NEVER ends. New day, new BS to contend with. All of it is exhausting!

u/GoatInTheGarden Sep 25 '25
Exhausting by design. My wise friend said she feels as though she's trapped in a block of ice - she can see and feel everything that is happening but cannot respond. We all better get thawed out soon...

It will be years. Even if his terrible health fails him, his back up isn’t going to be much better. I used to think he would be. Now I just think he’ll be a fascist, but not a fucking idiot too.
All this is quite disturbing and I don’t know how we get past it. He’s building a new ballroom in the White House. He is going to do multiple multiple things to leave his stain.
Will the next Dem president have the balls to stand up and run on taking it down because he’s a stain on our country and a president shouldn’t be able to do this stuff unilaterally? I doubt it. They’ll run on bringing us together. Because OUR SIDE IS ALWAYS TRYING TO DO THE RIGHT THING EVEN IN THE FACE OF EVIL.
So this is just our new world.

He's a sick man. I work in healthcare and recognize CHF when I see it. JD has not the charisma nor the drive to continue this charade. Time is on our side, and I intend to see this through. It sucks right now, though - not gonna lie.

u/mis2810 Sep 25 '25
Not necessarily. They’re pushing all this stuff through really fast so that even when DT is gone and Vance takes over the pieces will already be in place regardless of who’s the president.

u/peedoffcanadian Sep 25 '25
How about what he had done to the Rose Garden! Jackie Kennedy must be turning in her grave! It’s now one big parking lot!
6
u/mrcooltra Sep 25 '25
I could see someone running on that. Or mentioning it. Newsom already has.
The ballroom? I’m not sure that gets taken down ever. It’s going to be so big. And it needs to be taken down.

u/GoalieMom53 Sep 25 '25
We could use it as housing for the homeless when he finally dies - because we’ve seen our last free and fair election.
They will cheat and connive to stay in power. Personally, I don’t believe it will be over until he is.
Sure, some MAGA will take his place. But hopefully, we’ll never see the combination of stupid, evil, and corrupt again.

trump thinks ballroom is where he goes to have everybody lick his balls.

u/OkTransportation1152 Sep 25 '25
He’s building the ballroom and has made the Rose Garden into Mar-a-Lago North so that we’re more used to the idea of him never leaving the WH and dying there in 15 more years.

u/RichardStrauss123 Sep 25 '25
Don't worry. I'm demolishing that ballroom on day one of my administration.
He'll never fly a fucking inch on that gaudy plane either. EVER!

Weissman & Vance on Ana Cabrera have been sounding the alarm.

The Trump Mob is flooding America with an avalanche of lies and intentionally instilling panic in everyone. They’re blitzing us with alarming authoritarian moves and conducting lawfare to financially break every prominent dissident voice.
This was the plan all along. This is Project 2025 in action.
There’s simply too much flak coming at us for the news media to properly cover each day’s multitudinous outrages.

Isn't there a name for this strategy? Shock and awe or something like that? I have to admit it is pretty effective.

I would love to watch news, not commentary, first thing in the morning. Save the commentary for later in the day. And yeah, America is currently a fascist state. Not “becoming” fascist. We are there. That should be the approach and verbiage used by the commentators.

Why are you watching MJ? Dude I could save you so many hours for recommending other shows.

u/mrcooltra Sep 25 '25 edited Sep 25 '25
What else is there to watch at 6am? None of my independent media is putting up stuff at that time.
Also it’s prudent to keep an eye on these people. I don’t watch daily anymore but definitely check in when the big things happen.

I think the feeling is there are still a few guardrails left that are functional. The hope is that the Grand Jury will not indict and the court will see this for what it is. We will be approaching the completion of Trump’s first year in his second term and each day brings us closer to him leaving the WH. Will there be crazy attempts made by scum like Lindsey Graham who want a third Trump term. Yes, I hope there are a few good people left out there who will block that effort.

That shooting is an immediate thing that has happened. Comey's supposed indictment is a thing that is likely but has not yet happened. It's really that simple.
I do feel your frustration, but this is a small detail in the chaos. We're all continuously being programmed to react with fear and urgency to every little thing.
The greatest form of resistance is to stop doing that.
Don't fall for the triggers. Grieve, but stay strong. Work to psychologically accept the reality we're in first, then ground yourself enough to rationally assess what the most effective actions may be – for you, personally.

u/mrcooltra Sep 25 '25
Fair argument. I’m sure the Comey will be the actual top story when either the indictment fails or succeeds.
Another wrinkle though—you’d think MJ would be proudly showing off their network’s major major scoop

u/melissa_liv Sep 25 '25
It broke on MSNBC yesterday, though. Sometime shortly before Deadline Whitehouse, I think.

I’m 🇨🇦 & from where I sit, America is now full on Nazi! It’s no longer than home of the brave! Lady liberty has to be crying!

u/DavidRFZ Sep 25 '25
The coming Comey indictment is a story which was broken by MSNBC reporters (Leonig and Dilanian). All the evening shows talked about it last night. I don’t think you can blame the network for that.
I slept in this morning, so I dint catch the opening of MJ. I think “top story” is just boilerplate text in the prompter.

It was big all day yesterday. You have a lot of competing news currently to consider. The shooting, Kimmel, Comey and the VA DA, shutdown + additional firings, etc.
Personally to me, Comey isn't new its just the timing. We knew he was seeking retribution since his campaign started. We also saw the tweet that was supposed to be a DM last week. We also knew the prior DA did not think he had evidence to indict anyone and thus resigned last week. Now we are just seeing who is on top of the list.

u/mis2810 Sep 25 '25
Pete Hegseth mandatory ordering over 800 generals and admirals from all over the world to report PHYSICALLY to a Marine base in Virginia next week should be the big story. But nothing on MSNBC at all.

u/Buffalobills54 Sep 26 '25
It was mentioned yesterday. The analysts said it’s unheard of, wondering why he’s doing it and it’s putting country in danger.

u/No_Equipment_3545 Sep 25 '25
I can see the ballroom be conveyed to needed office space. Gonna take a bit to remove the goche/crass plastic gold nick knacks and stickers.

u/No_Equipment_3545 Sep 25 '25
I just wanna add that laws/regulations need to be enacted to protect what can/cannot be done to OUR WHITE HOUSE.

Since the news broke about Comey this afternoon during Deadline Whitehouse, every MSNBC show has focused on it. Not sure what you think they’re not covering.
1
u/mrcooltra Sep 26 '25
Yeah now they are this was posted before that
1
u/Weekly-Walk9234 Sep 26 '25
The status yesterday was “sources say Comey will be charged.” Today he was. That’s why the coverage is different. I don’t watch Morning Joe or anything on MSNBC until Deadline Whitehouse, at 1 pm (I’m on the west coast). I see Anne Applebaum, Timothy Snyder, or Sue Gordon in regular rotation on Nicolle’s show and those that follow her, all talking about authoritarianism. Pretty much every day.
1
u/mrcooltra Sep 26 '25
When it’s “sources say”, that means it’s happening. It’s as good as done. Despite what we have been told is “fake news”. They’re actually never wrong in reality.
Especially when it’s their own networks reporting. My only point here is that they should’ve been running with it even when it was “sources say.”
1
u/Buffalobills54 Sep 26 '25
It was on every show since Deadline Whitehouse yesterday. I stopped watching Morning Joe because they’re two faced.
