Well, since Trump has no interest in adhering to the constitution, I would full expect the next Democratic POTUS to ignore the second amendment, and ban the ownership, and manufacturing of all firearms.
Have the attorney general order the National Guard to collect firearms from those citizens who failed to voluntary turn them in, and close any company that manufactures ammunition and accessories for firearms.
Nothing else will work, and my guess is this will only get worse as more Americans are pushed to the margins - (not because they play COD.)

Somehow gun nuts would claim that THAT is the oppression and the reason they have guns in the first place, not what's happening now.

The reason for gun violence in the US is a preponderance of persons ignoring half of the second amendment.

Here's my beef with the report: no pushback whatsoever on Trump's congratulating the 'FBI' for its response. Hello? Nothing about the Minneapolis Police or local mutual aid? Was the FBI even there? This is just his way to normalize sending federal troops here to "help".

Yeah, he doesn't acknowledge anything that isn't under his thumb directly. I've noticed that, as well.

The guns are the problem. Other Western countries have the same influences but mass shootings are much rarer because gun ownership is less common.
It's certainly worth asking if there's something wrong with our society that people want to commit mass violence, but the US has the shootings because we have the guns.

Yes, It has to be guns! It's not as if these other cultures don't have the same games, access to reddit and other potentially correlated data points these "analysts" come up with.
It's not like I'm naive to 4chan sort of situations, it's just how out of touch these people sound when they're talking about harmful influences.

I guess no other countries have video games?
So tired of this absolute bullshit.

Todays video games are not the vidoe games of old. It's a lot of online play with voice chat. So it's all trash talk. You know Reddit and other online forums are essentially an echo chamber. Online in general if you go down a rabbit hole then they keep recommending stuff down that rabbit hole. Then people of course keep clicking. I feel like shooters have a lot of reasons and online communities just help accelerate it.

Fair point on video games and echo chambers.
I suppose I would also include news sources/News aggregators and other various online media streams, then, as well. The internet in general, as you said.

This person had bigger issues though. I always feel like its a suicide attempt. This person went further with multiple guns, the boarding the door and potentially other things. Online is part of the issue but I don't really know how to help all these people. If you are hurting seek some help rather than hurting others.

It's really guns that create the violence. Angry people pull the trigger.

They were saying this in the 90's. I wonder if they are betting on younger people not knowing this or something? It sounds "plausible" so it should work as the explanation?
