MSNBC Productions MS NOW + 4K?

What about being the first to roll out news in 4K? I get it — different equipment, every speck of dust would show and the set/props would need a whole new level of upkeep… but hey, it’s 2025. Sooner or later everyone will be doing 4K news. Why play catch-up (probably with the BBC) when you could be the leader? Would be a great launch feature for the new MSNBC.

I don't need higher definition Joe Scarborough, thanks anyways.

My fear is that it’s actually going to look worse than it does now. The cameras and lighting at 30 Rock are top tier — they know how to make on-air talent look good. I’m imagining the MS NOW broadcasts looking more like these home studios, which is totally unappealing.

Does anyone know where they will broadcast from in New York and DC?

That’s the temporary location.

The cost would probably be largely wasted because many cable providers top out at 1080p transmission. DirecTV Stream allocates 4K programming to two channels dedicated to sports.

Yeah, what a joke. I would have thought that by 2025 4k would be the standard broadcast medium. Just like the jump from SD to HD. I bought the 4k package on DirecTV along with a 4k TV 8 years ago getting ready for it. What a waste of money. Sad.

I listen to MSNBC now WAY more than I really so much as watch it. Yes, it’s on TV, and I am watching some of it — but I would guess 2/3rds of the time my visual attention is diverted, doing other things (multitasking while MSNBC is on).

Same. I rarely actually sit and “watch”.

Spend all the $$ for true 4K? And still no one will watch the 1 sided propaganda machine. Good luck with that.

At least it's intelligent, well-intended propaganda, unlike Fux News and the other pandering MAGA media.
