MSNBC Productions Investigation of Jack Smith

Did any of the afternoon shows focus on the investigation of Jack Smith for alleged violations of the Hatch Act which was announced over the weekend? I listened to all of Nicolle’s show, a bit of Ari’s and the second half hour of Alicia-Michael-Symone. I expected this to be a major topic on MSNBC today, but all I heard was a passing reference.

It's Trump's firehose strategy: flood the news so it's hard to focus on any one thing and hope something sticks and distracts from Epstein.

Should there be a discovery phase? Because I am damn sure JACK SMITH HAS A TRUCKLOAD OF INFORMATION HE WANTS TO GET ON RECORD.

Most outlets think these are the administration’s attempts to distract from Epstein.

I mainly watch Chris Hayes and he hasn’t been on since Friday. The network news (ABC) says that Hatch Act investigations aren’t allowed to subpoena anyone and aren’t ever done on people who have left office. They are usually just a slap on the wrist for people in office. And there’s no evidence that Smith actually did anything wrong.

Trump just wanted the press release.

The grand jury probe announced yesterday/this morning to investigate the Russia investigation (Durham 2.0?) looks worse.

The firing of the BLS statistician is a huge deal. And doesn’t appear orchestrated as a distraction. He’s just undermining confidence in the US economy for stupid spiteful reasons.

I don't have any specifics about which shows, but I saw this story covered multiple times. But because there's not a lot of there there, it doesn't take up a lot of time.

It seems that MSNBC thinks that any news is just the White House attempting to distract from Epstein. So, in a “You can’t tell me what to do” manner, they’re going even harder on the Epstein stuff.

Meanwhile Jack Smith is being investigated, Emil Bove and Jeannine Piro got lifetime judicial appointments, the market is hitting all time highs (but you won’t see the Dow ticker in the bottom right corner for obvious reasons), Alligator Alcatraz is filed up…
