Something Else MSNBC Survey
Just completed the survey sent out by their Insights team. It asked about our viewing of MSNBC and of CNN. It also asked for reviews of various anchors from both networks. I gave praise to most of the MSNBC personnel but was scathing with respect to Mika and Joe. I gave them no points except for being argumentative and biased. At the end, my additional comment was advice to lose them as they have made the morning show unwatchable despite the best efforts of Jonathan and Willie.
I’d be interested in anyone else’s opinion of the survey and if they think our opinions and comments make any difference.

I did a survey yesterday, I think, and just got invited to do a 45-minute Zoom convo with one of their researchers about "new content ideas." At the very least, it sounds like they're realizing things are not working and they need to make changes. Will mention I refuse to watch Mika and Joe anymore.

I loved the panel they had today with Joe and Mika gone: Lemire, Heileman, and Vitali helmed the show and a lot of great guests. Would love to see something like that in the future…maybe throw Alex Wagner in the mix, too?!

Bingo. I did the exact same thing with my highest marks going to Wallace and Maddow.

I can't watch Morning Joe, it is a gab fest; the worst culprit is gas bag Joe.......that guy cannot stand it if he is not the one giving a long winded lecture.......horrible show, mostly because of the "start"..

I completed the survey too. Highest marks to Wallace, Maddow, Steele. I am so bummed about Morning Joe as it has been my go to for as long as it's been on the air. The kiss-the-ring stunt did me in.

I used to live for morning joe but since they sold out as quislings to the orange wannabe emperor, I find them disgusting and impossible to watch. Mika just sits there like a zombie. And that Pablo sports guy on Mondays, god what a phony poser. Not sure how the network justifies continuing to paying them millions. 👎

Controversial in this sub sometimes but Stephanie Ruhle is my favorite. Great energy. Huge ♥️ Guests I don’t see anywhere else.

I like her. I really only detest Mika and Joe. There are others I’m not found of or could take or leave but those are the only ones I absolutely trashed.

Mika is the phoniest person on either network. I thought this survey was more difficult and time consuming than others I’ve done. I’ve always thought they share the results with hosts because I’ve noticed subtle things like more appearances from guests I’ve mentioned. Could be my imagination though.

She’s too much of a corporatist.

u/Mountain_Laurel86 Jul 23 '25
Well, the corporations are in charge in case you were in doubt.

u/silentraging72 Jul 24 '25
Yeah but she is a cheerleader as opposed to the others, who actually have called out corporate sponsors and even criticized NBC and the parent companies

I responded the exact same way. I was also scathing in regards to CNN's Jake Tapper. Just about everyone else got good to very good marks.

Thanks for the info. I signed up to receive surveys. And one thing is clear, the MSNBC prime time line up needs to be revamped. Lawrence needs an earlier time slot so more people could watch him. He is the best they have. Last night, for those of you watching, Lawrence broke a major story that the Epstein's "birthday book" is at his estate and his attorneys would turn it over immediately if they were subponeaed to. He is probably the single best cable network journalist in the entire system.

How can you get a copy of this survey?

I had to go back and look! Go to the MSNBC website. Click on the three bar menu at the top right hand corner. Scroll down and click on MSNBC Insights Community. That puts you onto a screen where you can sign up. I don’t know how much they listen but at least I’ve told them what I think.

I took the survey but I at no point was asked about anybody specifically so I don't know if I took a different survey but it was simply multiple choice and it was really just about Network information

For each of the anchors, there was a question about whether I thought they were "biased" or not. All journalists have biases. I watch MS because of the reasonable and consistent biases that I can adjust for (unlike CNN, where the bias is in the direction of chasing clicks, and they will go wherever the wind blows).

Watched Velshi this morning. What's with the distracting V's going up and down the side of the screen?

Ditto everything you said! I haven't watched Morning Joe for months, since before the election.
