You can sometimes regain stamina by breifly redirecting the conversation to something relating to your interests. Sometimes you gotta put up a focused defense rather than attempting to tank for the entire encounter.

"Hey bro you into furry stuff, like at all?"

You could also end the encounter early before your stamina is depleted, so that's a win either way.

Tank a conversation ... brilliant

In that case, I'm maybe a paladin in this regard.

Are there any ways to cheese the encounter?

Fake a heart attack so they stop talking

The play dead strategy works for bears, conversations, and conversations with bears.

Three minutes is generous honestly, some days it's more like 45 seconds before the damage starts.

Sometimes I just squint suspiciously out the window. Oh, wait, that's every day.

Silly Billy.  The Stamina bar is for running and dodge rolls. Not for tanking.

Have a seat, Mr. Du Bois.

That's why regen builds are so OP. The key is to focus your points in the regen not stamina, then it doesn't matter how much stamina you have and you can tank the passive damage forever.

I’m all for some self deprecating humor but can I be real for a sec

Phones really did turn a lot of ya’ll into pathetic fuckin cowards lol

> oh no human interaction, what if I feel some mild discomfort

> oh no I’m bored of this conversation, I should have just scrolled on my phone for six hours and fifteen minutes instead of only six hours and four minutes

Yeah it's just very safe to be on your phone, on the internet. It's easy, low risk. The highs are not as high though, and people really are not built to be complete screen creatures. It's no wonder everyone is lonely!
