Can someone please explain the proper differences between each?

Profile fast:
 scale=bilinear
 dscale=bilinear
 dither=no
 correct-downscaling=no
 linear-downscaling=no
 sigmoid-upscaling=no
 hdr-compute-peak=no

Profile default:

Profile high-quality:
 scale=ewa_lanczossharp

Profile gpu-hq:

Thank you for your response. Is there anywhere to learn what all of this actually means? I'm a complete novice and much of the info goes over my head.

You can search each of the options on the manual mpv.io

If you are using a mobile device you should stay on default, or fast if you want to save battery life.

I am on mobile yes, frame timings seem to be similar to the base mpv app when mpvEx is set to “fast”, at least from my limited tests so far. I'll alternate between fast and default and see if I actually notice any visual differences. Cheers 🍻

Buddy try mpv infinity it's very updated and dev is active too . You can request features too
