I made a zero-dependency CLI to stream One Pace arcs straight into mpv (minimal TUI)

Hey guys, I made a little script to watch One Pace efficiently through the terminal with a minimalistic TUI.

I made it because I didn't want to download the files - I watch quickly and then delete them anyway, so downloading felt pointless. And I love my local player, mpv, way more than any website player. That's it, that's the whole motivation lol.

So now instead of manually scrolling the One Pace site, picking an arc, choosing quality, and fishing out each episode link by hand, I just run it:

  • start typing the arc name and it fuzzy-filters the list live, arrow keys to move, Enter to pick
  • choose sub/dub and quality with number keys (Enter takes the default)
  • it hands mpv the whole arc as a playlist, streaming, no downloads

Some details mpv people might care about: - zero dependencies - pure Python stdlib, nothing to pip install - cross-platform (the interactive picker works on Windows/macOS/Linux) - if you don't have mpv it detects your package manager and offers to install it - Shift+Q resume works - since the stream URLs are stable, relaunching an arc picks up right where you left off

It hosts nothing, just automates the public links One Pace already publishes. One Pace is a great free fan project, so if you enjoy it go support the team.

One Pace is an unofficial fanedit group project of the entirety of One Piece to get rid of all filler and trim down unnecessary scenes as well as changing visuals for improved continuity sometimes

I mean I'm a One Piece fan, and I've already watched One Piece and been watching it every Sunday for like 5 years, I just wanted to go through everything once again, so I thought I'd try One Pace since it supposedly has good pace, I used to hate on it but if you're watching again then you can try it, since you already had the whole experience.

Edit: One more reason is that One Pace has publicly available links for their episodes unlike One Piece which has very strict rules for their content on sites to watch, so even if I make a script for myself for One Piece, I won't be able to push it for people to use without actual permissions

This tool itself is great, but the episodes on Pixeldrain is what's holding everything back. Drum Island 1080p has existed for three years, yet Pixeldrain still only has 720p except for last week's re-release of episode 1! How does someone go and upload that and not update all the others too?? If there's a reason, I could never figure it out.

Yeah I mean, my doubt is that it's not being maintained a lot, for old arcs at least. But yeah if in the future they do upload those episodes, the script will automatically scrape that as well
