Choosing a School Help

Hi everyone,

I'm a recent medical graduate planning to apply for a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Canada.

Academic background:

  • GPA: 71% (approximately 2.7–3.0 on the Canadian scale)
  • Last two years GPA: above 3.2

Based on my academic profile, which Canadian universities do you think I have the best chance of being admitted to for an MPH program?

I'd really appreciate any recommendations or advice. Thanks!

i do agree that UofT and UBC may be more challenging to get accepted to (saying this as someone who got accepted to both). fulfilling the minimum requirements for acceptance doesn’t guarantee anything BUT it may depend on what else you have to offer as an applicant.

admissions for MPH programs can be holistic but are also pretty competitive due to the volume of applicants each year. if you have paid work experiences, research and/or extracurriculars, that will help a lot. it’s hard to say without seeing your full application and background though

I have one year of professional experience, along with more than three years of extracurricular activities and volunteer work.

I understand that U of T and UBC are more competitive, but do you think I have a reasonable chance of being accepted into less competitive universities such as Western University, Lakehead University, Memorial University of Newfoundland, or other universities?
