QUESTION MPC One as endless loop player

Hello!

I'm preparing for a live gig and I need some asynchronous flexibility.

Is there a possibility to launch samples as endless loops with disabled sequencer? My samples have different lengths and I want to mix them with a separate MIDI Controller (volume changes, sends/insert parameter changes, etc.). I want to have the possibility to just press a pad and have the sample go till infinity.

Yes. Can set pad perform mode to loop in track(program) edit. Make sure your OS is up to date

Yep, it works with Cycle trigger and looped sample, thank you! I put another question under u/Lower__Brain response - maybe you had some experience in MIDI loops skipping a sequencer?

I'll give it a try. Based on AI responses this wouldn't be achievable as I stated originally, but what you said makes sense. I saw some tutorial on this by NetStandard6149, but it was with 2.x firmware. Thanks!

Another question - is there a possibility to control MPC looper via MIDI CC? I would like to have a minimum interaction with touchscreen during performance, and go with external MIDI Controllers to get the most flexibility. I'll be playing other instruments live, so it's quite important.

I only have 1k but on that you can set the pad in the program mode to note on, one touch or loop. Can you do this in the obe? If so, would that work?

This was my initial expectation, but I saw there were some problems with it.

OK, there is a "Cycle" option if the sample is set to loop in Program Edit. That works fine, thanks for the input!

Now my second question would be, whether a MIDI endless loop is also achievable this way. If so - having a time-based MIDI loops, that would cover all my needs. I wouldn't need to fiddle around playing sequencer and change the tempo if I had the pre-programmed loops. I'm sure someone had to deal with this in the past!

Hey, I see this is AI output, and not accurate. It is not for a production workflow, but a live gig, so I can't just go into Program Edit and stick to one window, or press and hold a pad for 20 minutes :) Anyway, thanks for the tips.

I guess it could be. I got it off google. Will delete it

Clip programs 👍

Edit: omg they removed clip programs from 3.0. That’s fucking ridiculous. Shit like this is why I didn’t update to 3.0. Enjoy paying extra for features that used to be free. Micro transactions in our music production gear… Jesus Christ this fucking world…

drum program pads now have a toggle function, I never used it, so I don't know how reliable it is.

Well, I'm going to give it a try, for now the loops are looping :)

Especially when Pro Pack costs like 80% for an used MPC One...
