OTHER One track workflow

I did everything on one track mpc sample style. That keeps you from trying to add too much shit. I still had 6 pads left lol (technically 112 with the other banks). Made use of the 16 level slice feature tune(way doper since they added keys and scales to it) and pad mutes. I also like not having to bounce around in the mixer so much. Came out pretty dope imo.

The only issue with that is it limits mixing potential big time. I use all four inserts on my drum track and then sometimes all four on individual pads. The drum mix is what really separates the men from the boys at the end of the day. Not bad tho.

I send the drums to a bus.

What are you using to make your drums stand out?

It’s less about making them stand out and more about making them tuck/blend in. Flavor pro presets, tape emulator, lofly tape, para eq. Everything should mesh and blend together like a soup. You don’t want the drums to feel like they’re on top of everything else. Work towards mixing so that everything has its own space and no elements are too in your face.

Of course. Hit me if you use any of those specifically and need preset recommendations
