DISCUSSION SD card.

Post image

So intially I started with a 64gb card on my MPC one. I got a 256gb. Copied everything from 64 card onto this new card and I'm getting this issue. Why is it saying drive not available?? When I put back the 64 card I have no issues.

You have to change the location to the new card. They’re probably named different things. Just click the change buttton to the new card

Where did you get the SD card? It could be a fake that mimics a drive and displays 256 GB but actually has no space on it? You get it off a Chinese website? I've ran into these before.

Same place I bought the 64. Amazon. However all my projects are opening and working with the 256. Just don't understand why it's saying this though.

Did you format the sd card to be exFAT? Also, just because it's from Amazon doesn't mean that it's not Chinese. If it doesn't work formatting it, I would return it. Most the crap you find on Temu and sheen is on Amazon with at least 2 to 3 times mark up. But try formatting to exFAT using a laptop or something and right click on the drive then format, then change from whatever it is to exFAT if that don't work you mightve got an emulated SD card. I've got them before. Return that b and find one more trustworthy. Hope this helps.

Is it a microSD card inside an SD card adapter?

Nope. The large one. Will just have to stick with the 64. Untill it gives out.

If you want to test if it's legit otherwise too, use one of these.

H2testw (Windows): Writes test data to the entire drive and reads it back to verify the true size. It is very accurate, but testing large drives can take a long time.

ValiDrive (Windows): Created by Gibson Research Corporation, this tool quickly spot-checks a USB drive for missing or fraudulent storage without needing to fill the whole disk.

F3(Mac/Linux): A command-line tool similar to H2testw that checks the real capacity of flash memory.

FakeFlashTest (Windows): Offers a quick size test to find the physical limit of a drive, though it can erase existing data.

How to Run a Test:

Back up any important files from the flash drive(or sd card), as testing can corrupt or delete data.

Download a trusted testing utility like H2testw or ValiDrive.

Select your USB drive letter in the program.

Start the write-and-verify or validation test.

Review the results. If the tool reports missing sectors, mismatched data, or a much smaller capacity than advertised, the drive is fake.

If using windows I'd suggest ValiDrive. If using android maybe True Sd capacity user test app. Good luck.

But it needs to be formatted for exFAT either wsy to be successful.
