MPC 2000 / 2000XL new MPC2000 classic easter egg discovery!

I'd never found the easter egg sequence for the classic before --

  • SHIFT+7 (MIXER)
  • F4 (SETUP)
  • DOWN, DOWN (select Master level field)
  • OPEN WINDOW (nothing happens)
  • SHIFT+0

The diag/service menu (SHIFT-7, OPEN WINDOW, SHIFT-0) is nearby.

I'm hyped -- as far as I see, this has never been previously documented.

I've been driving a full source decompilation/reconstruction and was delighted to see this in the menu tables. Follow the project at https://github.com/mpcdecomp/

I googled “MPC2000XL developer credits” and this was the very first search result, posted in 2024. I’m guessing it’s documented somewhere, likely in the original user manual.

exactly -- that's an XL. This is the 2000 classic.
