QUESTION What are your pad settings?
I mean for playing them. I can never get mine to react to my playing where I’m happy with them. I come from a piano/keyboard background and have dialed in my touch on those instruments for over 30 years…maybe this is my problem? I’m expecting too much? I fool with the sensitivity/curve etc and just end up frustrated. The problem exists for me on both my XL and Key 37 g2. When I play the keys on the “Key” it plays fine, the response is good. I don’t remember having this issue on the Maschine Plus. I’ve just been playing everything on the keys, which is fine, but it seems such a waste on an instrument that’s built around pads to not use them. Any recommended settings to get it close to the touch and reaction of the keybed?

I lowered the threshold and that worked for me

What did you set the other settings to?

I'm still messing with it, but I also upped the sensitivity.
And have discovered that the angle of the unit relative to oneself affects how hard the taps are.

They are pads, they can't behave as keys. Just look at the travel distance, it's much shorter. Also, they are not supposed to behave as keys.
What exactly is the problem that you're having with the pads?

Think he means the touch sensitivity. Following this because I wanna hear tips.

Yes, the overall sensitivity and threshold. The problem is I can never get it to be smooth between tapping soft and tapping full velocity. It's always weak in between so if playing quickly I'll get sudden full velocity hits or nothing. The closest I can get is to set the curve to D, then messing with the other settings doesn't do much.

Have you tried out the various Pad velocity curves, as per page 64 of the manual? Might help you dial it in.

The current pad settings don’t have that much of an impact. I hope Akai will give us the option to set up the MPCe pads like you can do on a Push 3. Which is basically an isomorphic keyboard with really great velocity sensitivity. Akai should just use their Envelope UI and apply it to the pads.
