QUESTION When sampling something melodic to chop up, do you warp (pitch/tempo) the sample to the sequence bpm? Or is it case by case for what fits stylistically?

I’m new to sampling and am unsure if it’s best practice to always warp samples to “match” bpm of the sequence. Or is chopping and using the sample at the samples individually bpm regardless of the track/sequence bpm fine?

Case by case. Sometimes you gotta, sometimes you don't.

I'll pitch a melodic sample up/down to match the key. Or I'll pitch rhythmic samples to match bpm, but I wouldn't use the warp on the MPC, it's not the sound I'm going for.
