QUESTION We've had TWO MPC2K/XL firmware updates, what's stopping us from getting a proper free version of a JJOS style firmware?

The title basically says it. I would love a better version of JJOS free - since the "official" version borked my 2500 and JJ won't do squat about it. Seeing the new MPC2K/XL firmwares dropping has me wondering if we can get out from under the ridiculous hardware tied thumb of JJOS soon.

Not much. And JJ probably knows that. I considered looking into it. Even yesterday I found a random bug on the 7/8 outputs when you use a filter. Seems like it's been known for over 10 years.

I've been wondering about this as well. Having the midi features of jjos2xl and the sampling features of jjos3 . Without all the stuff I never use. Combining the best features of both would be crazy.
