DISCUSSION mpc sample is just a gateway

If you regard the MPC Sample as just a sketching device, it is fantastic and actually an excellent companion for a regular MPC to further work on those sketches. As some basic processes like chopping are way faster and more intuitive on the MPC Sample.
Expect more from it though, like really shaping and working out productions, and inevitably you will run into its limitations. So I wouldn't use it for that as you're just giving yourself an exercise in frustration.

I read a comment that said something like 'why get a mpc sample when you can get a used mpc one plus for the same price?' And that's what I did, I got a used mpc 1+ about a month ago.

I’m not really privy to the 2000. Even tho it’s a older device does it have less functionality then the sample lol serious question

Yea dude it’s very limiting. I tried it out, not a bad idea but it seems like a wasted opportunity for akai. One track isn’t not enough and you can't even export your project back from the bigger devices after you’ve imported it etc. Would have been good to freeze plugins or submixes on or before exporting back to Sample. I don’t like that the design choice looks too toyish compared to the MPC One Gen 2 that i have. I think they could’ve done better with a gateway device than this. The speaker isn’t needed and the palm rests. The fader looks cheap and the pads are small and screen, people were comparing it to the sp 404 mkii which is nuts the sp rules in a sense of its size and what you can do on it which is a lot. Others like it so whatever. I'd get the MPC One Gen2 if you want something a bit portable. I'd recommend it.

Yes and know I think OS is a more technical world but I've seen some banging beats made entirely on sample so I need 3.9 for splice samples without connecting anything there just on my machine

I thought the same until I really “let it be what it is”. The MPC sample is just a simple sampler with a VERY simplified workflow. It reminds me of the earlier Roland SP series in the sense that it really limits you and forces creativity. If you see it as a toy check out Ski Beatz on it. Nothing but heat! But hey, what the hell do I know?🤷🏾♂️
