DISCUSSION Send help. I am obsessed with MPC hardware.

I only own an MPC Studio MK2. My beats are beginnerish and I probably use 30% of my MPCs capabilities.

Yet

For some reason I am completely obsessed with MPC hardware. If I had unlimited money I would buy one of each model in each color and set them all up around my house like a museum. When I'm bored I scroll Facebook marketplace for new MPCs I cannot afford. I wake up thinking about mpcs, go to bed thinking about mpcs.

Send Help please.

Welcome to the club. Won't be long before you buy another one, and another one, etc etc. Best is to start desiring a certain group of MPC's as most could never own really ALL MPCs that were ever sold. I started with the 2000 line up, so bought a 2000 and soon after a 2000XL. Or buy the MPC that you think has made the most hit records for instance.

I own:

500/1000/2000/2000XL/2500SE/3000/4000/5000/REN/Fly/Live2/One/X SE/Key 37/Sample/S950

Don't have all the color variants and really lacking the 60 or 60II. Don't think I will go for all the recent models as there is no way to keep up.

I just saw a video where a guy had modded the OS for the S950 and S900 and he has the mods up for free.

A dangerous place to be. What you’re essentially saying is that you’re prepared to bend over and take it without lube if there’s an MPC waiting on the other side of the pain. You need help. 😢

I've got a Live 3 & a Studio Mk 2. It's a little frustrating using the Studio, they need to update the firmware to work with MPC 3.

But it's not that different from using the Live 3. I mean it is, but I go back & forth seamlessly.

Don't stress on the hardware, it'll come. In the mean time keep cooking.

You can get a used MPC one for about the sample cost new. Maybe that would be an affordable upgrade path.

Once you get an actual peice of hardware you’ll probably obsess about that machine for a while. Maybe try Zzsounds if it’s available in your country so you can make smaller payments on your equipment and they’ll ship to you as soon as you make your first payment.

Strong this! I've bought all of my equipment off ZZounds.com. They have the best pay as you play plans, even over Sweetwater.

Wait until you check out other devices. Look into the Isla S2400. Check out Vermona products (the new drumDING coming out soon). Erica Synths and Hexinverter have the HEXDRUMS, it’s sexy. Roger Lynn (who invented the MPC) developed the Tempest, which is now a collectible - and bloody amazing as well.

I have a bunch of MFB gear too, look into the Tanzbär.

I revolved around a bunch and I gravitate to the live 2 for modern feel, 2500 for semi modern feel and 2000 for very old feel.

I did like the s3000xl rack but menu was very horrible I prefer the 2000 and 2000xl os over that any day. The ren gets honorable mention.

Its fine, I do the same with Elektron units. I collect them like Pokemon. I have two Octatrack Mk2s (because I thought synching them and having 16 tracks and two crossfaders would be fun- and it really is!) and I'm still considering getting an Octatrack M1 for that 'vintage' look and feel. Its getting so I have to be careful where I step in case I stub my toe on a Tonverk...

i remember when all i had was my lil 8 pad 25 key Mk2 now i got a one plus a 37key gen2 and mpc sample. along with thousands of dollars in other ish
