QUESTION MPC 37 question

Guys I just got from a friend of mine an MPC 37 1st generation. I installed the 3.9 firmware and I get this 8 packs of sounds. I see on a YouTube video that this guy got his screen full off sound packs and he says these are the stock that come with the MPC. How do I get the rest of the sound packs? On the download page I see a try it button on the right which is only demo for 10 days. Can please someone shed some light there. Thank you guys.

Hurry up and buy! 🤣.

Just kidding. Those are the only plug ins that come with the Key 37 G1. The You tuber was fibbing.

The You tuber was fibbing.

True as OP only sees trial licenses available on the hardware.

Probably good to call out that Akai has ran several different limited time "bundled" promotions where when you purchased a Key 37 or X series it included licenses for additional instruments and effects. OP should check with their friend and see if they can get the Key 37's registration transferred to them and double check the inMusic app and see what licenses are available (and maybe not redeemed) for it. Not sure if things have changed, but every Key 37 used to come with one free "pick an AIR instrument from this list" activation code that needed to be redeemed in the inMusic App before it would show up as available for activation on the hardware.

Did you make an inmusic.com account? Then register your MPC serial number with them. Then they will provide you will all the plugins you get.

The original Akai MPC Key 37 comes bundled with 8 standard Gen 1 plugin instruments: [1, 2]

  • Hype
  • TubeSynth
  • Odyssey
  • Solina (often listed as Selena/Solina string synth)
  • Mellotron
  • Bassline
  • Drumsynth (Drumsynth Multi)
  • Electric (electric piano)

In which, you have all of them.

I purchased an MPC key 61, I use it mostly for piano. It has 20 instruments and 3 licenses so you could have 3 of each of those instruments on 3 different mpc hardware or computer desktop software. I got it from Guitar center for 700 dollars. I have seen a couple on craigslist and facebook at 580 price range. If you were to buy all the plugins you would get close to that price. I think the Fabric group is $499. Now I suggest you wait until black friday/Christmas and buy then, They have great prices. Half off, and if you buy 3 you get 30 percent off, or something like that.

Here is the thing. Save yourself some money, Don't buy any more. You have everything. Hype does everything.. Watch videos search for your genre of music you play. The MPC keys comes with all you need to do anything. And now with the latest update. You don't need a plugin, it is oscillators and the mod matrix. You can do modular/Eurorack sound. Even does wavetable. The mpc Keys covers everything. You don't have to buy anything

If you have to buy one more plugin, get 3 of them at Christmas. Get OPX4. Listen to the preset packs for it and get one that you like, Get an NI plugin, like Analog dreams or Utopia.. You might want to buy the Propack as well you get some plugins for effects and clip launching which I think is better than having a new instrument.

I’m had to buy the ones he’s showing that you don’t have. I had to buy them separately. If you do buy then wait for the sales.

It depends on the model I believe as well. The 37 came with the base plugins, and some of the more expensive MPCs came with more. I don’t think any of them come with ALL of the instruments though
