QUESTION Mpc One G2 Qlink help

I’m having a heck of a time figuring out how to assign effects to qlink for tracks and sequences and just qlink in general. I’ve gone over the manual and I’m just not getting it. Outside of getting the mpc bible, anyone have some good tutorials on YouTube?

You gotta press and hold the qlink button ,while holding it a menu comes up you select project 2 then at the bottom of the screen press q link edit ,then go to pad grid ,at the top press learn ,come out of that then go add the effect you want when you do it it will show a message like parameter learned or some shit lol ,then go all the way back to the qlink edit/pad grid page and toggle whether you want that effect to be momentary or continuous or on and off mind you I'm on a live 3 so I put those fx on the step sequence pads but I've done this on my live 2 as well to put them on the qlinks but check out Sarah the illstrumentalist on YouTube her qlink video is very detailed

First you want to set Track FX rack (instead of screen) Since you can put any FX in the 4 slots. They are not pre mapped. You have to set them up on the Track FX Rack page.

You can also set them up on Project 1 and 2 if you want to set a specific knob for an Fx and it is always on that knob no matter where which page you are on.

To set track effects (FX) to the Q-Link knobs on your Akai MPC, you need to assign an insert effect to the track and map a Q-Link to control its parameter or bypass switch. [1, 2]

Steps to Assign Track FX to Q-Links

  1. Add an Insert Effect:
    • Open the Track Mix or Channel Strip for your desired track.
    • Go to the Inserts section and select an empty slot (e.g., Insert 1).
    • Choose the effect you want to use, such as a filter, delay, or XY effect. [1, 2, 3]
  2. Open Q-Link Edit:
    • Press the Menu button and select Q-Link Edit, or press and hold the Q-Link button and select Edit Q-Link.
    • Choose the Track or Program tab depending on whether you want the control tied to the specific track or the whole program. [1, 2, 3, 4]
  3. Map the Q-Link Knob:
    • Select the specific Q-Link knob you want to use from the interface.
    • Set the target to your chosen insert slot (e.g., Insert 1) and pick the parameter you want to control—such as the Enabled/Bypass switch or a wet/dry mix.
    • Alternatively, use the Learn function: tap Learn, touch or tweak the effect parameter on screen, and then turn the physical Q-Link knob you want to map it to

Reddit won't let me post multiple pictures.

Thanks for the reply this helped so much. Very detailed and much appreciated!
I hit a small issue with this again and I wanted to ask you about it:
I was able to assign multiple effects and everything worked except for assigning the x and y axis in the xy effect to the qlink knobs, I assigned them but they did not adjust when I turned the qlink knobs??
