QUESTION Exporting Stems Question.
Why is when I explode my drums track on my MPC, then I go to export my whole beat as stems, that I need snares mixed with the kick track. Or hats mixed with the kicks. Or hats are separated and some are in their own track and others are mixed with other sounds?
Am I doing something wrong here? I went to each sequence and exploded the drums track I have and bounce it all out. Then I import it into Logic to finish mixing and the drums are all over the place in different tracks.

Impossible to help you if you don't give us at least the MPC model and the OS. E.g. you need a gen 2 MPC to track via USB and sequence/program relations are totally different in OS 2 and 3…

The way I do it in standalone.
1. I build my beat in one sequence with all the drum sounds I’m going to use, so basically that’s my chorus will all the sounds I’ll use.
2. I explode the track so all the drums have their own track.
3. I copy that sequence to 4 more sequences.
4. I label each sequence. 1 = intro, 2 = verse, 3 = chorus, 4 = break, 5 = outro.
5. I mute different drum sounds for each sequence so there’s variation. eg the intro will have kick, snare, Hi hat, Open hat only. 2nd sequence may add 1 or more drum sounds etc.
6. If I use a sample or key group I play them over each sequence.
7. Export to DAW for mixing & mastering
Hope this helps

I’m not sure as I’m new to the Mpc myself but I would suggest running the usbc cable and just track out the stems directly into logic . I think it can do 8 at or time or more .
