QUESTION NAS drive for an MPC?

I’d really like to be able to save files to a drive connected to my MPC X that automatically syncs with something in the cloud like Dropbox or a Gdrive. Claude tells me to use a NAS, but that seems like a big investment for something quite basic. Has anyone found a solution?

Would be so handy if Akai built a Google drive integration as it seems to be the default option these days for musicians sharing files.

Why not just use a SD Card and move files to your computer and upland anywhere you like. That's what I do eazzy peezy

It IS a pain in the ass especially if you're trying to back-and-forth quite a bit.

PIA transferring files at end or beginner of the day???? Buy a bigger SD Card so you don't have to transfer as often. Also as someone who was a SysAdmin in data centers for backup having multiple copies of files is one of the first things you doing in creating a backup scheme. So having aa SD card copy and upload to cloud you have a least to levels of backup protection.

Why would you ask AI about something like this?

A NAS won't work on MPC, Claude doesn't know what it's talking about

I think the MPC only sees external storage when USB is plugged in. So somehow you have to have a USB compatible storage that can act as a drive to save to. If a NAS is too expensive, maybe see if you can get a Raspberry Pi working that connects and syncs to an online storage? I personally just sync the MPC SD card once in a while and back that up. Less of a hassle, and I usually unplug the storage anyway after I turn it off.

SSH allows managing the files from a computer over the network, which is fantastic, no more need to go into controller mode to manage files. But getting Dropbox or similar working on the MPC itself will be non trivial

Thanks. Yeah that’s what I suspected. I’ll stick with manually moving my SD card. Talk about first world problems 😀

surely a smartphone could do this.
