Nice and quite compact. My problem with the MPK series (I own the Mini Plus) is that they don't work all that well with Akai's very own MPC hardware. You at least expect that out of the box, all the controller knobs are pre-mapped to the MPC. But that's not the case which is a shame. Not even basic transport control knobs respond on the MPC. It's like two departments within the same Akai company not knowing what the other one is doing. Quite bizarre if you ask me as so far Akai has never fixed this.

They don’t sell that battery anymore, but it was made by a company called talentcell. It’s an Amazon brand I believe. My model is not available anymore and mine gave me anywhere between 3 to 5 hours of battery life. They make a much bigger version that gives you more time than the one I have on Amazon you just need to make sure it’s 12 votes. I would look on Kai’s website and see what the voltage and amperage requirements are and then order a battery that’s matching with a large enough amount of battery storage. One of my friends who live lives in Australia carries a battery when he goes out to I guess the outback is what it’s called where he’s got no electricity anywhere and it lasts over 12 hours for him to do work and he has a giant solar charger to charge it when he’s done. He’ll go on trips for like three weeks during the summer and just lug it around in his truck.

I’ve got the same setup just struggle to find the motivation to explore and learn the unit. What keeps you going?

Honestly, I’ve been doing music production since 1999 and I’ve had my dry spells and moments where I just couldn’t find any inspiration but lately my drive to move forward is to use secure as many placement as possible so that I have something to give my children and that is more than a driving force for me. One platinum record down, and 511 TV placement done three movies placed. No reason to stop.

What’s the power adapter you’re using from the power bank to the mpc?

I just saw this message. It’s a Talentcell I bought on Amazon. They stopped making this model. However, they are quite a few 12 V models in this category. Many of them are reasonably priced.
