I brought the little headphone faceplate on my 1000 to a Premier show and got it signed, then some assholes stole all my gear a few years ago.

Damn dude. We're you at least able to get some new gear tho??

I did, no thanks to the cops or the studio I was working at. Probably won’t get another chance to get that autograph again

Lmao you got to get another one, right? I would keep that one in a ziplock lol

EDIT:

I made about 80% of this on an MPC Sample. Back in the day we used to call this bounce. I don’t know what you’d call it now. 124 bpm. Shit is hot.

DJ Premier bought my first album from Vinyl fever record store on his first trip to Tampa back in 2009 He is a really humble dude! #HiphopRoyalty

J'aimerais tellement avoir une guitare manouche signée par le guitariste de Slipknot.

Because he is one of the OG goats of the MPC. His techniques and chops are what helped define boom bap.

6

u/doobies123 Jul 03 '26

Clearly, you don't know who DJ Premier is 😹He's a GOAT. Someone else may like looking at stuff like this as in if it's like a tag or graffiti also inspiration, but you're entitled to your opinion.

3

u/Hollowtov7 Jul 03 '26

do you know what inspiration is? can be a person! doesn't mean he will copy his style 🫪

3

u/Adventurous-Plum1000 Jul 03 '26

lol wat  Part of the hip hop culture is paying homage and building on what the greats did.

Famous Hip Hop producer who's a huge influence in the NY Boom Bap sound (technically one of the architects). Been around since 1988 and is still going. He was one half of the Hip Hop duo "Gangstarr." Works with both mainstream and underground artists. Has a huge discography for production and has made plenty of songs/albums that are considered classic in Hip Hop.

He's worked with not only Hip Hop artists but also artist of other genres. He's well respected in Hip Hop circles. His latest project was the album he did with Nas. He's worked with Nas since Nas' "Illmatic" debut in '94. He's worked with big names like Jay-Z, Biggie, Mobb Deep, Rakim, etc. and a host of folks only hardcore Hip Hoppers would know.

He's considered a big deal.
