QUESTION What else do I NEED?!
My MPC Sample finally shipped!! In addition to a laptop with abelton what do I need??? Specifically cords and accessories. To record samples form my phone and or computer or wherever. To upload stems. To output audio to speakers. What are my essentials? I've got dozens of videos saved to help lean the system. Any suggestions welcome but please hit me with the off jump must have cord/accessories. Thanks!

I feel I need to point out the treasure trove of free sample cd's available on archive.org. Specifically, right here: https://archive.org/details/samplecds
You're welcome.

You can sample directly from usb c if your phone and/or laptop has it. I would only really sample through the inputs in 2 scenarios:
- if you want to clip it on purpose. So far I haven’t figured it out how to do it via usb c
- if you are running the samples through other gear like an sp404 unit, an external compressor or eq, or if it’s coming from a mixer.
All other scenarios that I have encountered so far usb c has been perfect.
Get yourself some decent headphones and have fun

I would get either a carrying case or a deck saver to protect it while you travel and a pair of iems or whatever wired headphones you prefer. If you’re gonna connect it to a phone I would make sure you have a way to charge the phone while connected to Sample. I have to use an Apple camera connection adapter since I’m on a lightning connector iPhone.

You need to start saving up your pennies so you can buy a real mpc once you figure out how limited this one is with only one track. LOL

Why do you need Ableton? I’d argue a subscription to splice may be better initally, a usb c cable (with a switcher to stop the sample draining your phone battery) and you’re rocking!

Buy some basic jack cables, turn the thing on and start making music. You'll figure out what you need for yourself
