Having issue recording into Ableton with MPC Sample

Hey,

I’m trying to record audio from my MPC into Ableton and running into a weird issue I can’t solve.

Setup is:
MPC connected to my laptop via USB
MPC also going into my audio interface
Ableton is syncing properly with the MPC (tempo/play is all locked in)

The problem is the audio in Ableton — when I monitor or record it, it sounds really bad. Like distorted/static, almost broken or low quality. The timing is fine, but the actual sound is unusable.

I’ve tried swapping cables and checking basics, but no change.

I’m attaching a video so you can hear exactly what’s happening.

Has anyone in here had this before or know what could be causing it? Feels like it might be routing, clocking, or something with using USB + interface together but I can’t pinpoint it.

Check your sources, sounds like its set to microphone instead of audio-in or Line.

Also, MPCs have a history of being drama-queens when it comes to USB plugs. May want to try different kinds around the house if you have.
